TL;DR: A tubular membrane diffuser for a wastewater aeration system is described in this article, which includes a pipe having spaced apart outlet ports and a porous membrane sleeved around the pipe for discharging air in bubbles.
Abstract: A tubular membrane diffuser for a wastewater aeration system. The diffuser includes a pipe having spaced apart outlet ports and a porous membrane sleeved around the pipe for discharging air in bubbles. An adjustable plug can be located at the outboard end of the diffuser pipe in a fully buoyant application, near the inboard end of the diffuser pipe in a non-buoyant application where water occupies the outboard half of the diffuser, or anywhere between the diffuser pipe ends in a partially buoyant application. The plug includes a ring with a tapered bore and a tapered plug that threads into the bore to radially expand the ring for securing it in place.

TL;DR: In this article, a VCSEL package is described, consisting of a VLSEL, a housing, containing the VCSel, and a diffuser operably attached to the housing and configured to receive an emitted beam of light from the VSL and produce a beam of predetermined angular divergence.
Abstract: A VCSEL package including a VCSEL, a housing, containing the VCSEL, and a diffuser operably attached to the housing and configured to receive an emitted beam of light from the VCSEL and produce a beam of predetermined angular divergence. The housing may be a PLLC package, a ceramic package, or a TO-style package. The diffuser could be a substantially planar diffuser sheet, which in some cases may be comprised of glass or plastic. In some embodiments, the diffuser could be a diffractive optical element or holographic light shaping diffuser. In some embodiments, the diffuser can be designed to produce a beam with an illumination full angle of up to about 90 degrees.

TL;DR: In this paper, a combination filter bag support and air diffuser for each filter bag is described, which is characterized in that the support holds the filter bag in an open tubular configuration throughout the length of the bag.
Abstract: A bag-type filter apparatus, whose gas-permeable tubular filter bags are cleaned by a periodic reverse purge flow of air directed into one end of the filter bag, has a combination filter bag support and air diffuser for each filter bag and which is characterized in that the support holds the filter bag in an open tubular configuration throughout the length of the filter bag, but the air diffuser is of shorter length than the filter bag to more effectively clean the filter bag.

TL;DR: The performance of packed-column and diffused aeration for removing trihalomethanes from drinking water was related to water source, water temperature, contaminant concentration, and other process variables as discussed by the authors.
Abstract: The performance of packed-column and diffused aeration for removing trihalomethanes from drinking water was related to water source, water temperature, contaminant concentration, and other process variables. Data obtained from this study were compared with theoretical predictions and with the results of previous feasibility studies. Based on efficiency and cost, packed-column aeration appears to be the more promising of the two technologies.
