TL;DR: A polyester film composite is characterized by comprising a biaxially oriented polyester material having a thickness of 50 to 200 µm and a readily bondable coating film formed on one or each side thereof, and by having a haze lower than 2% and a total light transmittance of 90% or higher as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: A polyester film composite characterized by comprising a biaxially oriented polyester film having a thickness of 50 to 200 ν µm and a readily bondable coating film formed on one or each side thereof, and by having a haze lower than 2% and a total light transmittance of 90% or higher; and a light diffuser plate which comprises the composite and a light-diffusing layer superposed on the readily bondable coating film(s). The light diffuser plate has excellent optical properties when used in a liquid-crystal display. The polyester film composite is useful as a substrate for the plate.

TL;DR: This work presents the first valve-less diffuser pump fabricated using the latest technology in deep reactive ion etching (DRIE) and presents results on pumps with different diffuser dimensions in terms of diffuser neck width, length and angle.
Abstract: We present the first valve-less diffuser pump fabricated using the latest technology in deep reactive ion etching (DRIE). The pump is fabricated in a simple micromachining process in a double side polished silicon wafer anodically bonded to a glass wafer. Pump chambers and diffuser elements are etched in the silicon wafer using DRIE while inlet and outlet holes are etched using an anisotropic KOH-etch. The DRIE etch resulted in rectangular diffuser cross-sections. We present results on pumps with different diffuser dimensions in terms of diffuser neck width, length and angle. We reached a maximum pump pressure of 7.6 m H/sub 2/O (74 kPa) and maximum pump flow of 2.3 ml/min for water.

TL;DR: A pluri-tubular aerator includes a vertical central tube member, at least one outer tube member disposed concentrically around the central tube, and a diffuser and an air tank disposed on the lower end of the aerator as discussed by the authors.
Abstract: A pluri-tubular aerator includes a vertical central tube member, at least one outer tube member disposed concentrically around said central tube member, and at least one of an diffuser and an air tank disposed on an lower end of the aerator for delivering externally supplied air into the central tube member or a space between the central and outer tube members. The diffuser produces a continuous stream of fine air bubbles while the air tank intermittently produces a bulky air bubble of either a spherical shape or a ring-shape. Preferably, the diffuser and the air tank are used concurrently.

TL;DR: In this article, the mixing of heated water which is discharged from a submerged multiport diffuser was analyzed using the three-dimensional grid-based numerical model, where discharge momentum flux was properly incorporated into the model using the concept of a numerical slot diffuser, along with multi-jet theory.
Abstract: The mixing of heated water which is discharged from a submerged multiport diffuser was analyzed using the three-dimensional grid-based numerical model. The discharge momentum flux is properly incorporated into the model using the concept of a numerical slot diffuser, along with multi-jet theory. Plane or line patch was introduced to impose discharge momentum flux which plays an important role in mixing of the thermal effluent in the near field. The laboratory experimental work has been conducted to investigate mixing characteristics of the coflowing diffuser. A comparison of model simulations with laboratory experiments show that the proposed model properly simulates the shapes of thermal plumes and the distributions of excess temperature. The proposed model properly simulates velocity induced by a coflowing diffuser in proximity to a shoreline boundary, and this is confirmed by Lee's experiments.

TL;DR: The continuous flow catheter (10) for peritoneal dialysis includes at least two lumens, of which one is short (12) and the other is long (14) as discussed by the authors.
Abstract: The continuous flow catheter (10) for peritoneal dialysis includes at least two lumens, of which one is short (12) and the other is long (14). The long lumen (14) is coiled (22) and contains a plurality of openings (26). The short lumen (12) is provided with a diffuser (30) for the dispensing of fluid in a diffused manner. Also disclosed are methods for implanting the catheter.
