TL;DR: In this article, a wet scrubber for scrubbing a fluid is described, which includes an inlet for receiving fluid and a vortex chamber, in communication with the inlet, for causing at least a portion of the fluid to circulate.
Abstract: A wet scrubber for scrubbing a fluid. The wet scrubber may include an inlet for receiving the fluid and a vortex chamber, in communication with the inlet, for causing at least a portion of the fluid to circulate. The wet scrubber may also include at least one diffuser for exhausting the fluid from the vortex chamber, the diffuser configured to substantially prevent fluid exhausted from the diffuser from recirculating back into the diffuser. A paint booth and a method of scrubbing a fluid are also provided.

TL;DR: In this paper, a segmental ring centrifugal pump was constructed as a single monolithic casting, where the diffuser and the channel ring were cast as a unit, and a monolithic diffuser channel ring member and diffuser vanes provided structural support.
Abstract: A segmental ring centrifugal pump wherein the channel ring and the diffuser/crossover hydraulics are formed as a single monolithic casting. By casting the diffuser and the channel ring as a unit, the monolithic diffuser channel ring member and the diffuser vanes provide structural support to the channel ring. The channel ring wall thickness has been reduced by taking advantage of the reinforcing function of the monolithic cast piece. The reinforcement of the channel ring wall and the minimum wall thickness can be adjusted by modifying the radius between the diffuser vanes and the channel ring.

TL;DR: In this paper, a diffuser for introducing gas in bubbles into liquid held in an aeration tank comprising a body member having a backing surface and passaging extending from a gas inlet to an outlet at the backing surface, and a flexible, gas permeable membrane covering the back surface and secured at its periphery to the body member in sealing relationship.
Abstract: A diffuser for introducing gas in bubbles into liquid held in an aeration tank comprising a body member having a backing surface and passaging extending from a gas inlet to an outlet at the backing surface, and a flexible, gas permeable membrane covering the backing surface and secured at its periphery to the body member in sealing relationship thereto. The membrane is adapted to distend and move away from the backing surface upon delivery of gas under pressure to diffuser, with the gas flowing through the distended portion of the membrane and into the liquid in the form of relatively small gas bubbles, and adapted to collapse into engagement with the backing surface when gas under pressure is not delivered to the diffuser. A check valve comprising a movable valve member on the membrane and a valve seat on the backing surface enables flow of gas into the space between backing surface and the membrane, and blocks flow of liquid into the passaging in the body member.

TL;DR: In this article, a plurality of light emitting diodes are mounted on a front surface of a printed circuit board and the Diodes extend into the diffuser to display a symbol.
Abstract: An indicating element for an elevator includes a cover plate having an opening formed therein through which a lens extends. Positioned behind the lens is a light diffuser having an area formed in the shape of a symbol to be displayed. A plurality of light emitting diodes are mounted on a front surface of a printed circuit board and the diodes extend into the diffuser. The front surface of the printed circuit board, as well as the side walls of the diffuser are white to achieve a better light reflection. The lens, the diffuser and the printed circuit board are mounted on studs extending from a rear surface of the cover plate and are retained by nuts. The light emitting diodes are connected together in separate groups with a first switch for connecting the groups in series to a higher voltage alternating current power supply and a second switch for connecting the groups in parallel to a lower voltage direct current power supply.

TL;DR: In this article, a plurality of detachable, three-dimensional diffuser vanes attached to a diffuser plate of a centrifugal compressor is described. And the detachable vanes may include indentions that mate with extensions extending from the diffuser.
Abstract: A system, in certain embodiments, includes a plurality of detachable, three-dimensional diffuser vanes attached to a diffuser plate of a centrifugal compressor. In certain embodiments, the detachable, three-dimensional diffuser vanes may be attached to the diffuser plate using threaded fasteners. In addition, dowel pins may be used to align the detachable, three-dimensional diffuser vanes with respect to the diffuser plate. However, in other embodiments, the detachable, three-dimensional diffuser vanes may include a tab configured to fit securely within a groove in the diffuser plate. In addition, the tabs of the detachable, three-dimensional diffuser vanes may include indentions that mate with extensions extending from the diffuser plate, wherein the tabs may slide into slots between the extensions and the grooves of the diffuser plate.
