TL;DR: Examination of customer adoption of mobile banking from an interaction perspective finds that interaction among system elements may create new characteristics and it is necessary to analyze these interactions to have richer understanding on the adoption behavior.
Abstract: Internet has been accelerating technology development in many sectors, including bank industry Mobile banking is the latest banking channel that offers many advantages for banks and their customers Despite the advantages it offers, many banks face the problem of low mobile banking adoption, particularly in Indonesia Many Indonesian banks face the problem of low mobile banking adoption A study on what makes customers fully accept mobile banking can help banks develop effective strategies to increase the adoption This paper examines customer adoption of mobile banking from an interaction perspective Based on this perspective, mobile banking adoption is studied by examining the interactions among elements involved in the system Interaction among system elements may create new characteristics; therefore it is necessary to analyze these interactions to have richer understanding on the adoption behavior Based on literature review, a framework and model for mobile banking adoption from an interaction perspective were developed The model was developed by adopting several theories, including usability, technology adoption model, diffusion of innovations, perceived characteristics of innovating, flow theory, trust and social influence

TL;DR: An extended version of Roger's diffusion of innovations (DOI) model is presented for secure HIT innovation implementations, in the context of electronic medical records (EMR) implementation, and reveals a positive association between perceived IP&S attributes in a HIT innovation such as EMR, and its implementation success.
Abstract: ABSTRACT:Successful implementation of health information technology (HIT) innovations has numerous benefits to healthcare providers, physicians, patients, and society. Increasingly, securing digitized health data is becoming an unstated mandate when developing and deploying HIT innovations. In this paper, an extended version of Roger’s diffusion of innovations (DOI) model is presented for secure HIT innovation implementations, in the context of electronic medical records (EMR) implementation. The authors theorize that perceived information privacy and security (IP&S) is a vital DOI antecedent. The findings of this research reveal a positive association between perceived IP&S attributes in a HIT innovation such as EMR, and its implementation success. This study is of value to both researchers and practitioners. This study contributes to academic literature by empirically validating an extended DOI model which includes an IP&S dimension, which researchers would be able to employ in future research. Based on the findings of this study, practitioners would be well-advised to pay close attention to the IP&S aspects of HIT innovations upfront during the implementation process, and solicit inputs and elicit requirements for the same from the key stakeholders early on in the process. This would facilitate the allocation of monetary and other resources to address the technology aspects, especially the IP&S aspects of HIT innovations, and also assist with positioning HIT innovations in the organization’s broad strategy in a meaningful way.

TL;DR: The goal of this paper is to identify key determinants of the technology battle between WAP and i-mode that is recently raging between German cellular service providers and to propose a possible diffusion path.
Abstract: The diffusion of innovations has long been a research domain in IS research. Yet, there is no sound theory nor practice to fully understand the complex mechanisms behind networks of users who are tied together by compatibility requirements as is frequently witnessed in information and communication networks. The goal of this paper is to identify key determinants of the technology battle between WAP and i-mode that is recently raging between German cellular service providers and to propose a possible diffusion path. By adapting an existing network model of technology diffusion, key influences are identified and incorporated into a computer-based simulation model. In doing so, trade-offs like better presentation quality on i-mode cellular clients vs. higher service costs compared to WAP applications can be modeled to propose a systematic sensitivity analysis of factors influencing the success of the respective mobile technologies and associated services. Not at least, the simulation model supports mobile services providers to customize their prices for a faster market penetration through regarding not only indirect (WAP, i-mode) but also direct network effects (SMS, i-mail) as crucial factors for adopters.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors identify the factors influencing the adoption of e-businesstechnology by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and test the usefulness of the identified categories of factors by analyzing a case study conducted by an English printing company with a staff of seventy-five.
Abstract: The factors influencing the adoption of e-businesstechnology by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) areidentified.Firms go through various stages, including the adoption ofe-mail and the establishment of a web presence, as they progress towarde-business.Current information systems literature is reviewed in order todiscover the organizational characteristics, organizational actions, and systemcharacteristics that influence the successful implementation of new informationand communication technologies (ICTs). Successful ICT adoption dependsupon such factors as strong vendor support and the age and experience of theCEO. Following a discussion of macro-level factors affecting e-business adoption(such as geographical resources and cultural factors), the usefulness of theidentified categories of factors is tested by analyzing a case study conductedof an English printing company with a staff of seventy-five.The companywas unable to draw upon social networks within the industry for assistance inadopting new ICTs because the company's contacts faced the sameproblems. The firm relied on the services of local consultants andrecruited more highly skilled staff locally. The case study indicates thatthe identified factors do indeed influence SMEs' adoption of e-businesstechnology.(SAA)
