TL;DR: This paper developed a method for digital camera model identification by extracting three sets of features in a machine learning scheme which give high order statistics which supplement and enhance the identification rate.
Abstract: Source camera identification methods aim at identifying the camera used to capture an image. In this paper we developed a method for digital camera model identification by extracting three sets of features in a machine learning scheme. These features are the co-occurrences matrix, some features related to CFA interpolation arrangement, and conditional probability statistics. These features give high order statistics which supplement and enhance the identification rate. The method is implemented with 14 camera models from Dresden database with multi class SVM classifier. A comparison is performed between our method and a camera fingerprint correlation-based method which only depends on PRNU extraction. The experiments prove the strength of our proposition since it achieves higher accuracy than the correlation-based method.

TL;DR: The method that was used to acquire digital images, derive RGB values and relate measurements to water quality parameters, found to be consistent with previous measurements using more traditional narrow-band radiometers.
Abstract: Conventional digital cameras, the Nikon Coolpix885® and the SeaLife ECOshot®, were used as in situ optical instruments for water quality monitoring. Measured response spectra showed that these digital cameras are basically three-band radiometers. The response values in the red, green and blue bands, quantified by RGB values of digital images of the water surface, were comparable to measurements of irradiance levels at red, green and cyan/blue wavelengths of water leaving light. Different systems were deployed to capture upwelling light from below the surface, while eliminating direct surface reflection. Relationships between RGB ratios of water surface images, and water quality parameters were found to be consistent with previous measurements using more traditional narrow-band radiometers. This current paper focuses on the method that was used to acquire digital images, derive RGB values and relate measurements to water quality parameters. Field measurements were obtained in Galway Bay, Ireland, and in the Southern Rockall Trough in the North Atlantic, where both yellow substance and chlorophyll concentrations were successfully assessed using the digital camera method.

TL;DR: The features obtained from component forensic analysis provide useful evidence for such applications as detecting technology infringement, protecting intellectual property rights, determining camera source, and identifying image tampering.
Abstract: This paper considers the problem of component forensics and proposes a methodology to identify the algorithms and parameters employed by various processing modules inside a digital camera. The proposed analysis techniques are non-intrusive, using only sample output images collected from the camera to find the color filter array pattern; and the algorithm and parameters of color interpolation employed in cameras. As demonstrated by various case studies in the paper, the features obtained from component forensic analysis provide useful evidence for such applications as detecting technology infringement, protecting intellectual property rights, determining camera source, and identifying image tampering.

TL;DR: In this paper, a storage controller treats full-size image data and display-sized image data unequally if the full size image data has been already sent to the server, unless the digital camera is not in use over a prescribed time.
Abstract: In a digital camera having a wireless communicator with a server, a storage controller treats full size image data and display size image data unequally if the full size image data has been already sent to the server. For example, the display size image data is not allowed to be replaced by new digital image data unless the digital camera is not in use over a prescribed time. Own image data and other's image data are treated equally. Image data received from outside and retrieved from inside memory are treated equally. Search key for own image data and related search keys existing in the outside are indicated in a comparable manner. The digital camera receives search key from neighboring advertiser to send it for Internet search of advertisement. Search key received from neighboring notable site is sent for Internet search of photographs of the notable site taken by others.

TL;DR: Investigation into the use of the Kodak DCS460 digital camera for mapping the Marconi Beam informal settlement in Cape Town finds accuracies in the order of ±0.2 m in planimetry and±0.6 m in elevation are sufficient for many mapping exercises.
Abstract: Small-format aerial photography is seen as a low-cost alternative to large-format photography for local area mapping. As CCD sensor resolutions and format sizes improve, digital sensors are becoming viable alternatives to small-format analogue cameras. This article reports on investigations into the use of the Kodak DCS460 digital camera for mapping the Marconi Beam informal settlement in Cape Town. Issues involving the practical use of the camera including calibration, photogrammetric limitations, image interpretation and measurement are discussed. Stereopairs of DCS460 images at 1 : 18,500 scale yielded accuracies in the order of ±0.2 m in planimetry and ±0.6 m in elevation. While these accuracies are sufficient for many mapping exercises the limited format size of the camera and slow image download times economically restrict application of the camera to the mapping of small areas.
