TL;DR: In this article, a system where already existing computing and memory resources in an electronic camera are used to process an image for printing is presented, where the printer parameters are uploaded from the printer to the camera to provide a basis for image processing specific to the associated printer; whereby compensation may be done for variations in the printer characteristics which may occur as a result of printer manufacturing variations.
Abstract: A system wherein already-existing computing and memory resources in an electronic camera are used to process an image for printing. Rather than duplicating, in printers, computing and memory resources that are already in digital cameras, significant computing and memory resources need exist only in the camera. A digital camera can support many different printers, each with its own set of parameters such as for example print size, pixel size, colorimetry, sensitometry, and artifacts compensation. Printer parameters are uploaded from the printer to the camera to provide a basis for image processing specific to the associated printer; whereby compensation may be done for variations in the printer characteristics which may occur as a result of printer manufacturing variations, and further so that compensation may be done for different media types which may be installed in the printer.

TL;DR: This study shows that a dynamic modal characterization of musical instruments with membrane can be carried out using a low-cost device and that the obtained very informative results can be presented as a movie.
Abstract: This study shows that a dynamic modal characterization of musical instruments with membrane can be carried out using a low-cost device and that the obtained very informative results can be presented as a movie. The proposed device is based on a digital holography technique using the quasi-Fourier configuration and time-average principle. Its practical realization with a commercial digital camera and large plane mirrors allows relatively simple analyzing of big vibration surfaces. The experimental measurements given for a percussion instrument are supported by the mathematical formulation of the problem.

TL;DR: When image data is transmitted from a digital camera (DSC) to a PD printer and printed, the PD printer transmits its Capability to the DSC as discussed by the authors, restricting the setting items of a UI screen displayed on the display.
Abstract: When image data is transmitted from a digital camera (DSC) to a PD printer apparatus and printed, the PD printer apparatus transmits its Capability to the DSC. The DSC restricts the setting items of a UI screen displayed on the display to functions of the PD printer apparatus in accordance with Capability, and displays the items.

TL;DR: In this paper, a digital camera equipped with a projector includes a photographing device, a projector device that projects an optical image, and a mode switching operation member that outputs a switching operation signal indicating a changeover to one of the photographing operation modes from the projection operation mode.
Abstract: A digital camera equipped with a projector, includes a photographing device; a projector device that projects an optical image; a mode switching operation member that outputs a switching operation signal indicating a changeover to one of a photographing operation mode in which image data photographed by the photographing device are saved as a photographic image file in a recording medium and a projection operation mode in which a reproduced image is projected by the projector device; a top surface operation member disposed at an upper surface of a casing; and a projection control device that controls the projector device based upon an operation signal provided by the top surface operation member upon receiving a switching operation signal indicating a changeover to the projection operation mode from the mode switching operation member.

TL;DR: This presentation will illustrate the achievements of image-sensor development, and will outline the corresponding advancements in digital cameras, illustrating the way in which image sensors are leading camera growth.
Abstract: Due to steady advancements in semiconductor technology, greatly-enhanced memory capacity and high-speed data processing are now available, creating many evolving types of audio and video electronic products. The digital camera represents this trend well, where image sensor evolution has been responsible for enabling strong market growth. CCD image sensors have contributed to the miniaturization of cameras by their continuous march toward smaller pixel size and improved resolution, leading to more megapixels and enhanced image quality. Recently, the image-sensor shift from CCDs to CMOS has enabled faster capture speeds and convenient HD (High Definition). The result of this evolution has been the impressive growth of the digital camera market. This presentation will illustrate the achievements of image-sensor development, and will outline the corresponding advancements in digital cameras. Further, the future of digital cameras will be elaborated, illustrating the way in which image sensors are leading camera growth.
