TL;DR: In this article, a charge-coupled device (CCD) camera-based detection scheme was proposed for dynamic light scattering that provides information on the single-scattered autocorrelation function even for fairly turbid samples.
Abstract: We introduce a charge-coupled device (CCD) camera-based detection scheme in dynamic light scattering that provides information on the single-scattered autocorrelation function even for fairly turbid samples It is based on the single focused laser beam geometry combined with the selective cross-correlation analysis of the scattered light intensity Using a CCD camera as a multispeckle detector, we show how spatial correlations in the intensity pattern can be linked to single- and multiple-scattering processes Multiple-scattering suppression is then achieved by an efficient cross-correlation algorithm working in real time with a temporal resolution down to 002 s Our approach allows access to the extensive range of systems that show low-order scattering by selective detection of the singly scattered light Model experiments on slowly relaxing suspensions of titanium dioxide in glycerol were carried out to establish the validity range of our approach Successful application of the method is demonstrated up to a scattering coefficient of more than micro(S) = 5 cm(-1) for the sample size of L = 1 cm

14 Jan 2003TL;DR: In this paper, a system and method for transforming a main image of a digital image, such as one stored in the Exchangeable Image File (EXIF) format, updating the metadata, including the thumbnail image, to correspond to the transformed main image.
Abstract: This present invention provides a system and method for transforming a main image of a digital image, such as one stored in the Exchangeable Image File (“EXIF”) format, updating the metadata, including the thumbnail image, to correspond to the transformed main image. The transformed main image and updated metadata are stored together in a file using the EXIF format so that the transformed main image may be viewed using a digital camera or viewer software compatible with a properly formatted EXIF file.

01 Jan 2006TL;DR: This paper presents a system for Augmented Reality interior design based on digital images, including a useful marker erasure method for general AR applications, and describes various user interface details and implementation issues.
Abstract: In this paper, we present a system for Augmented Reality interior design based on digital images. The system can be used with an ordinary PC and a digital camera: no special equipment is required. Once placed in the image, virtual objects may be scaled, moved and rotated freely. In addition, the layout can be stored in file for later adjustment. We describe various user interface details and implementation issues, including a useful marker erasure method for general AR applications.

04 Oct 2010TL;DR: In this paper, an LCD for displaying a plurality of set information items is provided for a digital camera (10), and the position of the input portion which is used when the setting of the digital camera is changed can be easily understood.
Abstract: An LCD (21) for displaying a plurality of set information items is provided for a digital camera (10). When a plurality of input keys disposed around the LCD (21) are depressed, set information which is displayed adjacent to the input key can be changed. A control portion of the digital camera (10) performs a variety of control operations of the digital camera (10) in accordance with set information. Therefore, the position of the input portion which is used when the setting of the digital camera (10) can easily be understood. Thus, the setting can be changed by performing only a simple operation.

TL;DR: In this paper, a method, an apparatus, and a computer recording medium for video-based handwriting input for biometric Signature Data Collecting is presented. But the method is not suitable for writing on a paper without a touch sensor.
Abstract: Disclosed are a method, an apparatus, and a computer recording medium for video-based handwriting input for biometric Signature Data Collecting. The invention is implemented by finding out all of the relative positions among all light points of light sources when all light sources mounted on a stylus are turned ON; capturing an image including effective strokes and digital data of pen pressure with a digital camera, when a user writes on a writing surface with a stylus having a light source (e.g. LED) indicating x-y coordinates of strokes, said images are time-stamped; wherein the stylus comprising a micro-switch, when the stylus touches the writing surface, the micro-switch is turned on to let the light source indicating x-y coordinates of strokes ON and generate a “light point”; and extracting effective stroke images and digital data of pen pressure by comparing the captured images with the light point on the stylus. Moreover, the invention discloses a low-cost, wireless method and apparatus for handwriting input which enables a user to write on a paper without a touch sensor provided for a computer system equipped with an embedded digital camera.
