TL;DR: A hermetically sealed digital electronic camera that is designed to operate both on land and underwater to great depths, and method of making same is described in this article, which is a camera which is totally encapsulated by being cast in plastic, with no seals, holes, joints, penetrating pins, wires or other objects.
Abstract: A hermetically sealed digital electronic camera that is designed to operate both on land and underwater to great depths, and method of making same. The present invention is a camera which is hermetically sealed by being totally encapsulated, preferably by being cast in plastic, with no seals, holes, joints, penetrating pins, wires or other objects. Wireless means are used for communicating information, electrical power and control signals. The invention is impervious to atmospheric contamination and absolutely incapable of leaking under water to great depths and pressures. In an alternate embodiment camera optics are not encapsulated but are immersed in water when the encapsulated digital camera is placed in water.

TL;DR: Using airborne multispectral digital camera imagery, a number of feature combination techniques were compared in image classification to distinguish vineyard from non-vineyard land-cover types in northern California.
Abstract: Using airborne multispectral digital camera imagery, we compared a number of feature combination techniques in image classification to distinguish vineyard from non-vineyard land-cover types in northern California. Image processing techniques were applied to raw images to generate feature images including grey level co-occurrence based texture measures, low pass and Laplacian filtering results, Gram-Schmidt orthogonalization, principal components, and normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI). We used the maximum likelihood classifier for image classification. Accuracy assessment is performed using digitized boundaries of the vineyard blocks. The most successful classification as determined by t-tests of the Kappa coefficients was achieved based on the use of a texture image of homogeneity obtained from the near infrared image band, NDVI and brightness generated through orthogonalization analysis. This method averaged an overall accuracy of 81 per cent for six frames of images tested. With post-classi...

TL;DR: In this article, a user interface for a digital camera is presented, where the user interface simultaneously displays an electronic viewfinder image and at least one other image such as a previously captured image.
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a user interface for a digital camera such as a digital camera built into a smartphone or other multipurpose portable electronic device. The user interface simultaneously displays an electronic viewfinder image and at least one other image such as a previously captured image. The previously captured image is located within the electronic viewfinder image. Designated input causes the previously captured image to be enlarged from an initial size to an enlarged size.

TL;DR: A digital camera has a moving image mode where display images are sequentially displayed on a color liquid crystal monitor and a still image mode in which a display image, captured in response to a release switch, is processed and recorded in a memory card as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: A digital camera has a moving image mode in which display images are sequentially displayed on a color liquid crystal monitor and a still image mode in which a display image, captured in response to a release switch, is processed and recorded in a memory card. In the moving image mode, an analog signal processor performs previous-pixel-value interpolation for defective pixels. In the still image mode, calculation is made using data stored in a frame memory of a digital signal processor to perform interpolation for defective pixels.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors propose a system for capturing audio clips either before, during, or after the capture of an associated photographic image, where a user can associate an audio clip with a corresponding photographic image by using two shutter button positions to respectively control the initiation of an audio recording and the termination thereof.
Abstract: A system for capturing, via a digital camera, an audio clip either before, during, or after the capture of an associated photographic image. The system allows a user to associate an audio clip with a corresponding photographic image by using two shutter button positions to respectively control the initiation of an audio recording and the termination thereof. In operation, a user presses shutter button to a partially depressed position which initiates audio capture. The user then fully depresses the shutter button, which initiates image capture with continued recording of the audio clip. Audio recording continues until the shutter button is filly released. The recorded audio clip and corresponding image are stored in local camera memory in a format that allows them to be re-associated when the memory is downloaded from the camera.
