TL;DR: Concepts for the extension of the SystemC methodology for the specification and design of analog and mixed signal systems are introduced and illustrated on a telecommunication system including digital hardware and software, analog filter and an analog environment.
Abstract: SystemC is likely to become more and more important for the design of digital circuits from the specification down to the RT-level. Complex systems often contain analog components. This paper introduces concepts for the extension of the SystemC methodology for the specification and design of analog and mixed signal systems. The concepts are illustrated on a telecommunication system including digital hardware and software, analog filter and an analog environment.

TL;DR: This paper proposes an alternate approach to logic synthesis using rewriting and peephole optimization but from a modern perspective, and relies on efficient techniques, such as precomputation, reconvergence analysis, cut enumeration, Boolean matching, exhaustive simulation of small logic cones, and local resource-aware decision procedures based on Boolean satisfiability.
Abstract: This paper proposes an alternate approach to logic synthesis using rewriting and peephole optimization but from a modern perspective. We use a simple logic structure (AIGs) as the basis for all the algorithms, and rely on efficient techniques, such as precomputation, reconvergence analysis, cut enumeration, Boolean matching, exhaustive simulation of small logic cones, and local resource-aware decision procedures based on Boolean satisfiability. The result is a logic synthesis flow that is orders of magnitude faster than traditional ones and more scalable, being applicable to large industrial netlists with millions of gates.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a powerful tool for the study of the performance of control strategies and consists of a versatile modulator capable of synthesizing triggering signals for various fixed-frequency and pulse width modulation controls based on a digital implementation.
Abstract: This letter presents a powerful tool for the study of the performance of control strategies and consists of a versatile modulator capable of synthesizing triggering signals for various fixed-frequency and pulse width modulation controls based on a digital implementation. Among many other advantages, the approach provides a straightforward, flexible, and rapid means for prototyping because of its reprogramming capability and user-friendly interface. Field programmable gate array was chosen as the hardware platform because of the additional benefits it provides, such as high operating frequency and parallel processing capabilities. Several practical examples of its application demonstrate the utility of this approach

TL;DR: In this article, a modification of the Fredkin gate is proposed and an all-optical circuit of this modified gate is also designed using semiconductor optical amplifier on the Mach-Zehnder interferometer switch.
Abstract: Conventional digital circuits lose energy because the bits of information are destroyed during the operation. Reversible circuits are currently on the top approaches to power minimization with its application in all-optical-based systems. Fredkin gate is a very common reversible logic gate. In this paper, a modification of the Fredkin gate is proposed. All-optical circuit of this modified Fredkin gate (MFG) is also designed using semiconductor optical amplifier on the Mach-Zehnder interferometer switch. A 16-Boolean logical operational circuit is also shown using this MFG. The main advantage of this scheme is that we can design a 15-Boolean logical function using a single MFG unit. Only one operation (nand) required two MFG units. Hence, complexity of the circuit can be reduced. Also, multivalued T-gate circuit using MFG is proposed.

TL;DR: A technique for creating a combinational logic network with an output that signals when all other outputs have stabilized, based on dual-rail encoding, and guarantees low timing overhead and reasonable area and power overhead is proposed.
Abstract: This paper proposes a technique for creating a combinational logic network with an output that signals when all other outputs have stabilized. The method is based on dual-rail encoding, and guarantees low timing overhead and reasonable area and power overhead. We discuss various scenarios in which completion detection can be used to measure the delay of a synchronous circuit at fabrication time or at run time, and of an asynchronous circuit at run time. We conclude by showing, on a large set of benchmarks, the effectiveness of the proposed technique.
