TL;DR: In this paper, a solid-state imaging device is provided, which is capable of increasing an S/N ratio while enhancing a dynamic range, when a photoelectric signal is converted into a digital signal.
Abstract: A solid-state imaging device is provided, which is capable of increasing an S/N ratio while enhancing a dynamic range, when a photoelectric signal is converted into a digital signal. This solid-state imaging device comprises: a plurality of photoelectric conversion devices arrayed in rows and columns, each of the photoelectric conversion devices converting an optical signal into an electric signal and outputting a first signal voltage; a difference signal generation circuit provided for each column, for sequentially inputting the first signal voltage and a second signal voltage obtained by initializing the photoelectric conversion devices, thereafter converting the first signal voltage and the second signal voltage into charges, generating a difference signal therebetween, and then outputting the difference signal after adjusting a gain according to a level of the difference signal; and an analog/digital conversion circuit connected to the output of the difference signal generation circuit.

TL;DR: In this paper, an optical transmission system is disclosed in which an electric multilevel signal (V) composed of two electric digital signals (V1, V2) modulates a semiconductor laser.
Abstract: In optical transmission systems it is desirable to increase the bit rate of digital signals to, e.g., 40 Gb/s and more. In such systems there is an upper bit-rate limit above which conventional directly modulated lasers and their drive electronics cannot be employed. An optical transmission system is disclosed in whose optical transmitter (1) an electric multilevel signal (V) composed of two electric digital signals (V1, V2) modulates a semiconductor laser (4), so that an optical multilevel signal (V) is transmitted. The optical receiver (2) contains a decision circuit (7) which recovers the digital signals (V1, V2).

TL;DR: In this paper, a descrambler descrambles a transport stream output from a front end unit and supplies it to a digital interface and a demultiplexer, where the demultanexer extracts from the transport stream a compressed video signal and a compressed audio signal of a program specified by a user, and supplies the extracted signals to an MPEG decoder.
Abstract: In a digital broadcast receiving apparatus, digital broadcast signals provided by a digital broadcast method are supplied to various types of external units and are effectively utilized. In the above apparatus, a descrambler descrambles a transport stream output from a front end unit and supplies it to a digital interface and a demultiplexer. The demultiplexer extracts from the transport stream a compressed video signal and a compressed audio signal of a program specified by a user, and supplies the extracted signals to an MPEG decoder. The MPEG decoder decompresses the supplied video signal and the audio signal and supplies them to the digital interface, an NTSC encoder, and an audio signal D/A converter. The digital interface supplies either of the transport stream or the decompressed data to a digital external unit under the control of the controller.

TL;DR: In this paper, an automatically gin-controlled digital received signal is AD converted to a digital signal, which is subjected to quadrature modulation processing through operation, that is, a digital detection is performed by software processing to change variable in each software processing in accordance with changes in the modulation method of the received signal and in the symbol transmission rate.
Abstract: An automatically gin-controlled digital received signal is AD converted to a digital signal, which is subjected to quadrature modulation processing through operation. The quadrature demodulation result is subjected to low-pass filter processing through operation, that is, a digital detection is performed by software processing to change variable in each software processing in accordance with changes in the modulation method of the received signal and in the symbol transmission rate.
