15 Dec 2009TL;DR: In this paper, a disk drive is disclosed comprising a disk, a head for writing data to the disk, and control circuitry coupled to the head, the control circuitry comprising a signal amplifier outputting a first signal comprising an offset voltage, the controller circuitry operable to determine a state signal based on comparing the first signal to a reference signal.
Abstract: A disk drive is disclosed comprising a disk, a head for writing data to the disk, and control circuitry coupled to the head, the control circuitry comprising a signal amplifier outputting a first signal comprising an offset voltage, the control circuitry operable to determine a state signal based on comparing the first signal to a reference signal, increase a M-bit digital count value in response to a first state of the state signal, decrease the M-bit digital count value in response to a second state of the state signal, and determine a first analog signal based on N bits of the digital count value, wherein the first analog signal adjusts the offset voltage and M>N.

25 Jun 1997TL;DR: In this article, an image signal is temporarily stored in a shift register (502) by a latch circuit, and a voltage converter (111) boosts a voltage representing the ON state of the signal, and applies the boosted voltage to the power transistor (410).
Abstract: Upon executing printing by latching an input digital image signal temporarily stored in a shift register (502) by a latch circuit (501), and energizing and driving a heater (401) using a power transistor (410) using an nMOSFET on the basis of the latched image signal, a voltage converter (111) boosts a voltage representing the ON state of the latched digital signal, and applies the boosted voltage to the power transistor (410).

TL;DR: A device for compressing a digital audio signal includes a device for allocating bits available for the transmission or storage of the signal, controlling means for the adaptive quantization of the signals in order to enable a major reduction in the bit rate while at the same time preserving the quality of the starting signal to the maximum extent.
Abstract: A device for compressing a digital audio signal, includes a device for allocating bits available for the transmission or storage of the signal, controlling means for the adaptive quantization of the signal, in order to enable a major reduction in the bit rate while at the same time preserving the quality of the starting signal to the maximum extent. The device includes means for allocating a specific number of bits for the expression of the coefficients of each frequency band of a transformed digital audio signal, as a function of a piece of auxiliary information corresponding to a description of the spectrum of the signal, said device being informed by means for the prior elimination of spectral components of said transformed signal as a function of a psychoauditive criterion.

23 Dec 2002TL;DR: In this paper, a digital signal adaptation processing using either received signals or the direct sounds as reference signals is applied, and a ratio between the received signals and direct sounds is controlled by correlating the reference signals and another one of the received signal and the direct sound that are not used as the reference signal.
Abstract: In a short range radio communication headset, signals transmitted by the short range radio communications are received while direct sounds propagated from an external are detected Then, a digital signal adaptation processing using either received signals or the direct sounds as reference signals are applied, and a ratio between the received signals and the direct sounds is controlled by correlating the reference signals and another one of the received signals and the direct sounds that are not used as the reference signals and extracting necessary components

30 May 2003TL;DR: In this article, a first block receives a serial digital media signal, and provides a parallel digital media message based on the serial digital signal, while the second block stores the parallel signal in a corresponding slot in an outgoing frame and sends the outgoing frame in response to receiving an incoming frame.
Abstract: In one embodiment of a networking module, a first block receives a serial digital media signal, and provides a parallel digital media signal based on the serial digital media signal. A second block, operative with the first block, stores the parallel digital media signal in a corresponding slot in an outgoing frame, and sends the outgoing frame in response to receiving an incoming frame.
