TL;DR: This study compares two different watermarking approaches applied to error prediction frames transformed by ICA, and considers data hiding in digital TV channels where data are compressed using MPEG-2.
Abstract: In this paper, a new video watermarking scheme is proposed. We adapt two watermarking algorithms, originally proposed for still image watermarking, to embed data in a set of statistically independent sources, extracted from a video sequence. We show the interest of applying such an approach to video watermarking. The proposed scheme offers good robustness against MPEG compression attack, as well as an important capacity level. We consider, in this paper, data hiding in digital TV channels where data are compressed using MPEG-2. The main contribution of our study is to compare two different watermarking approaches applied to error prediction frames transformed by ICA.

TL;DR: In this article, a method for geometric correction of image and protection of digital image can realize the resynchronization detection for the information watermark which has the spread spectrum modulated and interlaced also is embedded in image DWT zone through the matching module embedded in the image DFT and the training sequence embedded in Image DWT.
Abstract: A method for geometric correction of image and protection of digital image can realize the resynchronization detection for the information watermark which has the spread spectrum modulated and interlaced also is embedded in image DWT zone through the matching module embedded in the image DFT and the training sequence embedded in image DWT. The error-free detection for valuable information can steadily be realized, althrough the watermark image under goes the server condition of both JPEG compression and geometric deformation. The method can be used also for some other occasions where the image synchronization is needed such as satellite imagery, interlacing digital map, digital watermark, etc..

TL;DR: Various approaches and methods that have been used to conceal and preserve messages in the spread of watermarking from ordinary text to multimedia transmission are reviewed.
Abstract: Digital watermarking is the art of embedding data, called a watermark, into a multimedia object such that the watermark can be detected or extracted later without impairing the object. Concealment of secret messages inside a natural language, known as steganography, has been in existence as early as the 16th century. However, the increase in electronic/digital information transmission and distribution has resulted in the spread of watermarking from ordinary text to multimedia transmission. In this paper, we review various approaches and methods that have been used to conceal and preserve messages. Examples of real-world applications are also discussed.

TL;DR: In this paper, a novel approach for improving the robustness of the quantization-based watermarking scheme is presented, where the quantized value can be analytically determined in a closed-form solution, instead of being fixed at the center of the interval.
Abstract: This paper presents a novel approach for improving the robustness of the quantization-based watermarking scheme. Unlike the conventional approach, which quantizes the host value to the center of the objective interval, the proposed scheme offers the flexibility of determining the quantized value. Given tolerable embedding-induced distortion and the host value, the quantized value can be analytically determined in a closed-form solution, instead of being fixed at the center of the interval. To objectively compare the robustness, different watermarking schemes are implemented in the same distortion-to-noise ratio (DNR) scenario and then the probabilities of error detection are measured. Simulation results indicate that the proposed scheme, compared to the conventional quantization watermarking, could reduce the error probability by 0.113 when DNR is set to 0 dB, whereas the reduction is only 0.037 for the recent Wu's approach. Furthermore, without the finite possible values of the watermarked data, the proposed scheme provides sufficient nondisclosure for the quantization step, whereas in the conventional quantization-based watermarking, the quantization step can be easily inferred from the watermarked data

TL;DR: Experimental results show that the novel watermarking scheme for remote sensing image has great imperceptibility and is robust to the image intensity attack such as cropping, high compression, filtering, noise adding, image enhancement, and mosaic.
Abstract: A novel adaptive discrete cosine transform-domain watermarking algorithm is presented for copyrighting of remote sensing images. The proposed method can utilize the human visual system(HVS) to embed a digital watermark in discrete cosine transform middle-high frequency coefficients of host image by scrambling the watermark image, determining adaptively the location where the watermark can be hidden, and modifying intelligently the strength of the embedded watermark.Experimental results show that the novel watermarking scheme for remote sensing image has great imperceptibility and is robust to the image intensity attack such as cropping, high compression, filtering, noise adding, image enhancement, and mosaic. It performs better than that of the watermarking algorithm proposed by Ho in the aspects of imperceptibility and robustness.
