TL;DR: In this paper, a plurality of time division multiplexed time slots circulate on a loop communication link, some of said time slots being permanently as-signed to terminals connected to the loop and others being temporarily assigned to terminals such as on an every third or every fifth slot basis by an extra slot count command.
Abstract: SEMI STATIC TIME DIVISION MULTIPLEX SLOT ASSIGNMENT Abstract of the Disclosure A plurality of time division multiplexed time slots circulate on a loop communication link, some of said time slots being permanently as-signed to terminals connected to the loop and others being temporarily assigned to terminals such as on an every third or every fifth slot basis by an extra slot count command. One use of a write echo command allows even permanently assigned time slots to be temporarily utilized by a terminal having a very high data rate.

TL;DR: In this paper, a light-pipe is used for beam splitting, combining, hybrid space-wavelength multiplexing (HWMM), hybrid spacewavelength demultiplexing, dense wavelength division multiplexer, and dense spectrum division demultimiplexer.
Abstract: The present invention uses a light-pipe for beam splitting, combining, hybrid space-wavelength multiplexing, hybrid space-wavelength demultiplexing, dense wavelength division multiplexing, and dense wavelength division demultiplexing. A light-pipe has a first end where light enters the light-pipe and a second end where the light exits the light-pipe. The light-pipe is a polygonal rod or a hollow reflective cavity. To perform beam splitting, light enters the first end of the light-pipe and reflects off of the side surfaces inside the light-pipe producing additional light beams. By placing an imaging lens at the output end of the light-pipe, all of the virtual images (n-1) of the additional light beams and the original light entering the light-pipe become the object of the imaging lens. As a result, the light-pipe acts as a 1-to-n splitter. If the input signal, that is, the light entering the light-pipe, has more than one wavelength and a grating is added to the second end of the light-pipe, the device becomes a hybrid space-wavelength division multiplexer/demultiplexer. If the spacing between adjacent wavelengths is small, the light-pipe becomes a Dense Wavelength Division Demultiplexer. If the input and output are reversed, the beam splitter becomes a combiner. If the inputs have different wavelengths, the light-pipe becomes a Wavelength Division Multiplexer.

TL;DR: The asynchronous time division network (ATDN) as mentioned in this paper consists of a switching matrix having a number of input and output ports arranged in columns, each node has a queueing means, and each queueing mean of each output column is tested and priority is given to the first queuing means tested which holds more than one packet.
Abstract: The asynchronous time division network transmits data by way of high rate bearers. The data is divided into fixed length packets. The network comprises a switching matrix having a number of input and output ports arranged in columns. Each data packet is routed from an input port to a defined output port via addressed switching nodes. Each node has a queueing means, and each queueing means of each output column is tested and priority is given to the first queueing means tested which holds more than one packet.

TL;DR: In this paper, a general introduction of the new theory of international values is given, which is an extension of the cost-of-production theory of value to the international trade situations.
Abstract: This chapter is a general introduction of the new theory of international values, which is an extension of the cost-of-production theory of value to the international trade situations. Within a general framework comprising input trade and choice of production techniques, the new theory analyzes the international values (i.e., the system that consists of wages of each country and prices of goods), gains and losses from trade, and the patterns of specializations. It is the first theory to treat traded input goods in this general form. It facilitates the analysis of recent conspicuous trade aspects, such as rapidly increasing trade volume of intermediate goods, fragmentations of production processes, and the complex network of global value chains. Besides the Introduction (Division I), this work is divided into four parts: (1) the presentation of the theory (Division II), (2) extensions of the theory to more complex situations (Division III), (3) some examples of applications of the theory (Division IV), and (4) possible implications to three neighboring fields (Division V). Terms and concepts are explained in detail and theorems are fully stated. A mathematical proof of the fundamental theorem is given in the Appendix.

TL;DR: In this article, the problem of providing a printing indication device which can give the division printing indication of a job was addressed, and a display control was proposed to convert a job division printing list item into a display signal and display it on a display device.
Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing indication device which can give the division printing indication of a job. SOLUTION: A job division indication means 11a gives the division indication of the job. An arbitrary/automatic division judgment means 11b judges arbitrary division that a user can select or automatic division which is automatically selected. A printer information management means 12 preserves and manages information of a printer. A printing destination printer decision means 13 generates division printing list items for the respective printers, which are required for deciding the printing destination printer, from printer information in the case of arbitrary division and retrieves the optimum printer for deciding the printing destination printer from printer information and generates the division printing list item of the optimum printer in the case of automatic division. A display control means 19 converts the division printing list item into a display signal and display it on a display device 20. COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
