TL;DR: In this paper, a control system is provided for controlling a braking effort of a braking system in a powered system, where a controller coupled to the braking system is configured to monitor the braking effort at a braking region along the route.
Abstract: A control system is provided for controlling a braking effort of a braking system in a powered system. The powered system travels along a route. The control system includes a controller coupled to the braking system, where the controller is configured to monitor the braking effort of the braking system at a braking region along the route. The controller is further configured to control the braking effort at the braking region, such that the braking effort approaches within a predetermined range of a braking effort threshold, but does not exceed the braking effort threshold. A method is also provided for controlling a braking effort of a braking system in a powered system.

TL;DR: In this article, an electronic control system for a variable geometry turbocompressor applied to a diesel engine provided with a continuous braking device is presented, with a selector which may be manually actuated and by of which it is possible to select a first braking mode according to which the engine is maintained substantially constant by controlling the turbo-compressor and a second braking method in which the continuous braking devices provides the maximum braking power.
Abstract: Electronic control system for a variable geometry turbocompressor applied to a diesel engine provided with a continuous braking device. The system is provided with a selector which may be manually actuated and by of which it is possible to control the engagement/disengagement of the continuous braking device and it is possible to select a first braking mode according to which the speed of the engine is maintained substantially constant by controlling the turbocompressor and a second braking method in which the continuous braking device provides the maximum braking power.

TL;DR: In this article, a resistor grid is used for air cooling in an off-road vehicle with wheels, traction motors, a power generating dynamic braking mode, resistor grids, and a blower.
Abstract: Silencing equipment is provided for an air-cooling assembly in a off-road vehicle having wheels, traction motors, a power generating dynamic braking mode, resistor grids a resistor grid housing for dissipating the dynamic braking power and a blower. The grid housing includes an air inlet including noise-absorbing material. A conduit with noise-absorbing material is provided for directing cooling air from the inlet through a transition chamber to the blower and the resistor grid in the housing. A removable cover is provided in the conduit for accessing the air blower. The silencing equipment also includes an outlet with plurality of exhaust vanes.

TL;DR: The virtual rider capability is assessed by guiding a nonlinear motorcycle model in very demanding cornering maneuvers, with roll angle up to 50°, and strong accelerations which lead the vehicle to the stoppie/wheeling extreme conditions.
Abstract: This work presents a virtual rider for the control of nonlinear motorcycle models, where the target motion is defined in terms of road path and speed profiles. The virtual rider inputs are the steering torque, the rear wheel driving/braking torque and front wheel braking torque. The virtual rider capability is assessed by guiding a nonlinear motorcycle model in very demanding cornering maneuvers, with roll angle up to 50°, and strong accelerations which lead the vehicle to the stoppie/wheeling extreme conditions.
