Abstract: Based on the digital image processing theory, a new method of measuring the leading vehicle distance was proposed. The input image using the method of edge enhancement and morphological transformation was established, so the edges of objects were enhanced to identify. The target vehicle was identified and calibrated in the image by using the method of the obstacle detection by segmentation and decision tree. The relationship between coordinates value in image space and the data of the real space plane was established by applying the ray angles. Thus, through accessing to image pixel coordinates of the vehicle, the vehicle's actual position in the plane can be calculated. At last, the leading vehicle distance based on the calculating model of inverse perspective mapping was measured. By using software VC++, an experiment program was made. The experiment results prove that the method of measuring the leading vehicle distance is simple and effective. It can meet the requirement of intelligent vehicle technologies. It is an more available and more advanced method to calculate the leading vehicle distance. The target vehicle was identified and calibrated in the image by using the method of the obstacle detection by segmentation and decision tree. The relationship between coordinates value in image space and the data of the real space.

Abstract: We analyzed the point spread function (PSF) of the typical 4f optical image processing system by use of a spatially variable half-wave plate as the spatial filter and found that the PSF is an elementary vector beam. Theoretical analysis and real experiments show that the optical system can be used for a radially symmetric Hilbert transform that permits two-dimensional edge enhancement as the spiral phase plate. This kind of radial Hilbert transform is useful for image processing because it can enhance the edges of an input image selectively by exerting a polarization analyzer before the output plane. The optical system also can be used for generation of vector beams with arbitrary array and shape in real time conveniently.

Abstract: Digital analysis of cine film provides numerous options for altering images by frame averaging or filtering algorithms that either smooth or enhance edges. While these may subjectively enhance image quality, there is no uniformity in their use among laboratories and effects on quantitative coronary analysis may not be ideal. To determine which processing algorithms might help or hinder quantitative coronary arteriography, cine film images of precision drilled stenotic cylinders (0.83 to 1.83 nm diameter) implanted in dog coronary arteries were analyzed with and without such algorithms. Video frame averaging of 1 to 49 frames had no effect on measures of accuracy (mean differences) but precision (standard deviation of mean differences) was improved from 0.23 to 0.17 mm (p less than 0.05) with video averaging of greater than or equal to 25 frames. Edge enhancement filtering algorithms resulted in slight deterioration of accuracy and precision and smoothing filtering algorithms caused modest improvements in these parameters; however, these changes were not significantly different from unprocessed images. Using edge enhancement filtering algorithms, accuracy was significantly worse (-0.27 mm) compared to a smoothing filter enhancement algorithm (-0.08 mm, p less than 0.001). The combination of video averaging and smoothing algorithms had no additional beneficial effects. Thus, precision of quantitative coronary analysis of cine film can be optimized by appropriate video averaging. Edge enhancement filtering algorithms should be avoided whereas smoothing filter enhancement algorithms may improve accuracy.

Abstract: Based on a high-speed intelligent vehicle with machine vision,an improved algorithm of lane recognition is proposed.In order to obtain fine gradient images, graying,median filter,edge enhancement and optimal threshold are adopted to process images taken by experimental vehicle's CCD camera.Lane edge is detected according to its feature model by an improved Hough transformation.By focusing on area of interest(AOI) in pretreatment and detection,processing time is dramatically reduced.Moreover,the reliability of lane recognition is improved. The experimental result shows that this algorithm is of high efficiency,reliability and robustness.
