Abstract: This paper introduces an energy management strategy based on fuzzy logic supervisory for road electric vehicle, combining a fuel cell power source and two energy storage devices, i.e., batteries and ultracapacitors. The control strategy is designed to achieve the high-efficiency operation region of the individual power source and to regulate current and voltage at peak and average power demand, without compromising the performance and efficiency of the overall system. A multiple-input power electronic converter makes the interface among generator, energy storage devices, and the voltage dc-link bus. Classical regulators implement the control loops of each input of the converter. The supervisory system coordinates the power flows among the power sources and the load. The paper is mainly focused on the fuzzy logic supervisory for energy management of a specific power electronic converter control algorithm. Nevertheless, the proposed system can be easily adapted to other converters arrangements or to distributed generation applications. Simulation and experimental results on a 3-kW prototype prove that the fuzzy logic is a suitable energy management control strategy.

TL;DR: In this article, the performance of power lines for high bit rate applications is studied. But, the authors focus on the power line communication, which is originally devised to transmit electric power from a small number of sources to a large number of sinks, and the first data transmission were primarily done only to protect sections of the power distribution system in case of faults.
Abstract: This article overviews the power line communication, which is originally devised to transmit electric power from a small number of sources to a large number of sinks. Initially the first data transmission were over power lines were primarily done only to protect sections of the power distribution system in case of faults. This paper also studies the performance of power lines for high bit rate applications. DMT technology is adopted by the homeplug standard can theoretically provide data rates of 100Mb/s. However, products based on the standard only have achieved data rates up to 14 Mb/s. To protect against the severe noisy conditions and fading in the powerline channel, very high levels of error control coding need to be provided. The efforts of the homeplug alliance and home networking technology's growth in the US portend a very bright future for DMT-based PLC home networking.

TL;DR: In this article, a method and apparatus for supplying contactless power is presented, where electrical power is transferred from a power source (100) to a load (500) through a primary energy converter that can be connected to the power source, through an inductive loop connected to magnetically coupled to the primary (200) inductive loops, and then to a secondary energy converter.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for supplying contactless power. Electrical power is transferred from a power source (100) to a load (500) through a primary energy converter that can be connected to the power source, through a primary inductive loop connected to the magnetically coupled to the primary (200) inductive loop, and then to a secondary energy converter. The power factor for the transfer of electrical energy is one. Multiple loads can receive power from the power source end, where the loads are located in zones, collisions between the loads can be prevented.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a dc-DC-DC converter to realize power quality independence from the utility mains by merging renewable energy sources (RESs) into dedicated dc distribution architectures through corresponding dc-dc converters.
Abstract: Current trends indicate that worldwide electricity distribution networks are experiencing a transformation toward direct current (dc) at both the generation and consumption level. This tendency is powered by the outburst of various electronic loads and, at the same time, the struggle to meet the lofty goals for the sharing of renewable energy sources (RESs) in satisfying total demand. RESs operate either natively at dc or have a dc link in the heart of their power electronic interface, whereas the end-point connection of electronic loads, batteries, and fuel cells is exclusively dc. Therefore, merging these devices into dedicated dc distribution architectures through corresponding dc?dc converters is an attractive option not only in terms of enhancing efficiency because of reduction of conversion steps but also for realizing power quality independence from the utility mains. These kinds of systems generally provide improved reliability in comparison to their alternating current (ac) counterparts since the number of active elements in dc?dc power electronic devices is smaller than in dc-ac converters. Control design in dc systems is also significantly simpler since there are no reactive and harmonic power flows or problems with synchronization.
