TL;DR: In this article, an electrical supply apparatus for providing electrical power to a first type of socket and a second type of sockets is described, and the control unit is configured to interrupt the supply of electrical power through the second mains circuit.
Abstract: Electrical supply apparatus ( 201 ) for providing electrical power to a first type of socket and a second type of socket ( 410 ). The apparatus comprises an electrical power source ( 420 ) for providing electrical power, a first mains circuit ( 204 ) for conveying electrical power to the first type of socket, a second mains circuit ( 208 ) for conveying electrical power to the second type of socket, and a control unit ( 210 ) configured to interrupt the supply of electrical power through the second mains circuit, and thus to the second type of socket. The interruption of electrical power through the second mains circuit does not interrupt the supply of electrical power to the first type of socket.

TL;DR: A photo-rechargeable fabric with economically viable materials and scalable fabrication technologies was demonstrated to power a body area sensor network for personalized healthcare.
Abstract: Summary Smart textiles for electricity generation are a superior energy solution with greatly improved convenience and comfort for wearable bioelectronics. However, maintaining the sustainability and stability of the power supply, though highly desirable, remains a great challenge. Here, we present a photo-rechargeable fabric with economically viable materials and scalable fabrication technologies. The fabric was able to constantly deliver electric power for 10 min at 0.1 mA after being charged for 1 min under the standard 1-sun condition. It can also work normally under twisted and watery circumstances and hold the stored energy for over 60 days without significant voltage loss. The photo-rechargeable fabric was demonstrated to power a body area sensor network for personalized healthcare.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors summarized all the advancements made and provided a composite picture of costs and trends in storage technologies, and concluded that energy storage technology has become an enabling technology for renewable energy applications and enhancing power quality in the transmission and distribution power systems.
Abstract: Overall structure of electrical power system is in the process of changing. For incremental growth, it is moving away from fossil fuel based operations to renewable energy resources that are more environmentally friendly and sustainable. At the same time it has to grow to meet the ever increasing need for more energy. These changes bring very unique opportunities and obstacles. Over the past few decades many new and innovative ideas have been explored in the broad area of energy storage. They range in size, capacity and complexity in design. Some of the systems are designed for applications in large scale power and others are performing short term energy storage ride through capabilities for critical manufacturing and technology systems. Energy storage technology has become an enabling technology for renewable energy applications and enhancing power quality in the transmission and distribution power systems. This paper summarizes all the advancements made and provide a composite picture of costs and trends in storage technologies.

TL;DR: In this paper, a method and apparatus for maximizing the electric power output of a photovoltaic array connected to a battery is presented, where the voltage across the PV array is adjusted through a range of voltages to find the voltage that maximizes the electrical power generated by the PV arrays and then is held constant for a period of time.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for maximizing the electric power output of a photovoltaic array connected to a battery where the voltage across the photovoltaic array is adjusted through a range of voltages to find the voltage across the photovoltaic array that maximizes the electric power generated by the photovoltaic array and then is held constant for a period of time. After the period of time has elapsed, the electric voltage across the photovoltaic array is again adjusted through a range of voltages and the process is repeated. The electric energy and the electric power generated by the photovoltaic array is delivered to the battery which stores the electric energy and the electric power for later delivery to a load.
