TL;DR: In this article, the effect of welding speed on the tensile strength of a single-v butt joint was investigated on specimens having different bevel angle and bevel heights. And the strength of the welded joint was tested by a universal tensile testing machine.
Abstract: Tungsten Inert Gas welding is one of the widely used techniques for joining ferrous and non ferrous metals. TIG welding process offers several advantages like joining of unlike metals, low heat effected zone, absence of slag etc compared to MIG welding. The accuracy and quality of welded joints largely depends upon type of power supply (DCSP or DCRP or ACHF), welding speed, type of inert gas used for shielding. This paper deals with the investigation of effect of welding speed on the tensile strength of the welded joint. Experiments are conducted on specimens of single v butt joint having different bevel angle and bevel heights. The material selected for preparing the test specimen is Aluminium AA6351 Alloy. The strength of the welded joint is tested by a universal tensile testing machine and the results are evaluated.

TL;DR: In this paper, a method for resistance welding of sheet metal coated with layers is described, where electrical contact is established between the sheets to be interwelded and between the welding electrodes and said sheets, and subsequently welding is effected across the coating layers.
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the resistance welding of sheet metal coated with layers, wherein firstly electrical contact is established between the sheets to be interwelded and between the welding electrodes and said sheets, and subsequently welding is effected across the coating layers The invention relates also to machines for carrying out this method

30 May 2003TL;DR: In this article, an apparatus for friction stir welding, a weld tool for friction-stir welding, and a method for making a tool for making friction stir welders are presented.
Abstract: An apparatus for friction stir welding, a weld tool for friction stir welding, and a method for making a weld tool for friction stir welding are presented. The weld tool comprises a tungsten-based refractory material. A method for manufacturing an article, where the method comprises providing the apparatus for friction stir welding, and the article produced by this method are also presented.
