TL;DR: The sensitivity and frequency characteristics of the ECIS sensors were investigated both theoretically and experimentally and it was revealed that as the electrode width decreased or as the total electrode length decreased the sensitivity of sensor increased over the whole sensing frequency range, whilst electrode to electrode distance had no influence on sensitivity.

TL;DR: In this article, a printed circuit board is configured to reduce near-end cross-talk (NEXT) without compromising impedance by utilizing a low reactance dielectric insert with a two-stage combination positive and negative compensation removal technique.
Abstract: The present invention relates to RJ45 modular inserts that are connected to a printed circuit board used to transfer high speed signals for telecommunication interface media connections. The printed circuit board is configured to reduce near-end cross-talk (“NEXT”) without compromising impedance. NEXT is substantially reduced by utilizing a low reactance dielectric insert with a two-stage combination positive and negative compensation removal technique. By utilizing this method, the pair-to-pair NEXT is substantially reduced and differential pair impedance are controlled in a simple and cost effective manner.

TL;DR: In this paper, a protection system and a protection method are provided for protecting a double-fed induction generator (16) and a gearbox (24) during a grid fault, which includes a plurality of controlled impedance devices (44).
Abstract: A protection system and a protection method are provided for protecting a double fed induction generator (16) and a gearbox (24) during a grid fault. The protection system includes a plurality of controlled impedance devices (44). Each of the controlled impedance devices is coupled between a respective phase of a stator winding of the double fed induction generator and a respective phase of a grid side converter (26). The protection system also includes a controller (32) configured for coupling and decoupling impedance in one or more of the plurality of controlled impedance devices in response to changes in at least one of a utility grid voltage and a utility grid current.

TL;DR: In this paper, multilayer ceramics were fabricated to increase the current in the piezoelectric energy harvesting, which decreased the voltage but increased the current N times.
Abstract: Piezoelectric energy harvesting system is promising to the energy source of wireless sensor nodes for ubiquitous sensor networks. The piezoelectric material has been usually considered as a high voltage and low current source. When charging current into the thin film battery or supercapacitor, a larger current is needed to shorten the charging time. In order to increase the current in the piezoelectric energy harvesting, multilayer ceramics were fabricated. N-layer multilayer ceramics decreased the voltage but increased the current N times. The impedance of the multilayer ceramics are matched to 1 kΩ which is similar to the impedance of general electrical devices. The multilayer piezoelectric generator could be directly employed for electrical device without the additional electrical circuit to improve efficiency.

TL;DR: In this article, an electrosurgical generator for supplying electrosurgery energy to tissue is described, which includes sensor circuitry configured to measure an imaginary impedance and/or a rate of change of the imaginary impedance of tissue.
Abstract: An electrosurgical generator for supplying electrosurgical energy to tissue is disclosed. The generator includes sensor circuitry configured to measure an imaginary impedance and/or a rate of change of the imaginary impedance of tissue. The generator also includes a controller configured to regulate output of the electrosurgical generator based on the measured imaginary impedance and/or the rate of change of the imaginary impedance.
