30 Jul 2012TL;DR: In this article, an embodiment of an electric meter socket testing system features a plurality of tester line terminals adapted to connect with line terminals of an electrical meter socket; a pluralityof tester load terminals adaptively connecting with load terminals of the electric meter sockets; and a test module adapted to control input of voltage from the line terminals to the load terminals.
Abstract: An embodiment of an electric meter socket testing system features a plurality of tester line terminals adapted to connect with line terminals of an electric meter socket; a plurality of tester load terminals adapted to connect with load terminals of the electric meter socket; and a test module adapted to control input of voltage from the line terminals to the load terminals; and an indication interface configured to output whether the electric meter socket is determined to be safe for connecting an electric meter Accordingly, the test module may further be adapted to check for a short circuit in an electrical distribution wiring network coupled to the line terminals in at least one diagnostic procedure

TL;DR: The current status of net metering laws and rules in the US can be found in this paper, where the extent of the Net Metering authority in each state is highlighted and the impact of grid-interconnection requirements from specific utilities are analyzed.
Abstract: Net metering is a utility metering practice that encourages direct consumer investment in renewable energy technologies. Laws and regulations that establish net metering practices now exist in 22 states. Net metering enables electricity customers with small generators to receive a higher value for some or all of the electricity they generate. This is accomplished by allowing the electric meters of such customers to turn backward when there is more generation than demand. It effectively allows customers with small generators to use the electricity they generate to offset their usage over an entire billing period. This paper reports on the current status of net metering laws and rules in the US. In particular, the extent of the net metering authority in each state is highlighted. Differing requirements for grid-interconnection have introduced significant variations in the actual implementation of net metering programs. Interconnection requirements from specific utilities are collected to understand how net metering programs have been affected.

23 Mar 2017TL;DR: The main idea of the project is to modernize the billing system using GSM, which can reduce the electricity bills.
Abstract: The main idea of the project is to modernize our billing system using GSM. The GSM is a technique works on the principle of TDMA — time division multiple access and operates at the frequency of 900MHZ. The details of power displaced in the energy meter is transferred to the mobile using GSM and it also shows the units consumed by the load. If the number of units consumed by the total load exceeds certain limit means it will gives a warning based on tariff and also we are doing to turn ON and turn OFF the load by setting password to each load using GSM technique. Thus with the help of this project we can reduce the electricity bills.

TL;DR: In this paper, a method and a device for more accurate measurement of a gas supply with a gas meter is described, where a consumption-weighted correction factor is determined by weighted averaging of a sensor error factor with a consumption profile characteristic of the gas supply location and the measuring signal is converted into a corrected consumption or output value with the correction factor.
Abstract: Described is a method and a device for more accurate measurement of a gas supply with a gas meter. A consumption-weighted correction factor is determined by weighted averaging of a sensor error factor of the gas meter with a consumption profile characteristic of the gas supply location and the measuring signal is converted into a corrected consumption or output value with the correction factor. Embodiments relate inter alia to: operation of the gas meter as volume, mass or energy meter; formulae for determining the correction factor with sensor error factors and consumption profiles relative to volume, mass or energy; and measuring signal correction in the case of a non-registering or registering gas meter. Advantages are inter alia: subsequent customer-specific measuring signal correction; no additional measuring complexity in the gas meter; and improved measuring accuracy, in particular improved energy measurement by means of compensation for inherent deviations of the energy signal in the case of heat value variations.

TL;DR: In this paper, the utility model has the advantages of low cost, simple structure, multiple functional, and multiple functionalities, which can obtain voltage, electric current, frequency, power and the power factor data of UPS input and output simultaneously.
Abstract: The utility model provides a UPS testing arrangement, including UPS, UPS's input is connected with the input power meter, input power meter and mains connection, UPS's output has connected gradually load power meter, output switch, load. The utility model discloses during the test, the commercial power is counted via input power, receives the UPS input, UPS output termination load power meter, and the load power meter connects the load. At this moment, can obtain voltage, electric current, frequency, power and the power factor data of UPS input and output simultaneously. When disconnection during the load, can also reach UPS's empty load and standby data. The utility model has the advantages of low cost, simple structure, multiple functional.
