TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a method and system for a wireless electricity meter to be automatically registered to a concentrator, which includes the steps that the wireless meter emits a broadcast frame with the address of the electricity meter outwards at randomly-selected time, and surrounding concentrators capable of receiving the broadcast frame feed response messages back to the wireless electricity meters, wherein the identity recognition identification of the concentrators and the signal strength of the received broadcast frame are carried in the response messages.
Abstract: The invention provides a method and system for a wireless electricity meter to be automatically registered to a concentrator The method includes the steps that the wireless electricity meter emits a broadcast frame with the address of the electricity meter outwards at randomly-selected time, and surrounding concentrators capable of receiving the broadcast frame feed response messages back to the wireless electricity meter, wherein the identity recognition identification of the concentrators and the signal strength of the received broadcast frame are carried in the response messages; the wireless electricity meter selects the concentrator corresponding to the highest signal strength as the registering concentrator and sends a registration request to the registering concentrator; when receiving the registration request, the registration concentrator feeds a registration request response message back to the wireless electricity meter, and registration is completed In the whole process, the wireless electricity meter and the registering concentrator automatically complete the registration process through multiple times of data interaction between the wireless electricity meter and the registering concentrator, manual operation is avoided, registration efficiency is improved, and the registration error rate is reduced; in other words, the efficiency and the accuracy of a wireless concentrated meter reading system can be effectively improved

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a hooking-type fully automatic electric meter with a function of fully automatic detecting and choosing a measuring mode among the electric current, voltage and resistance measuring modes.
Abstract: A hooking-type fully automatic electric meter with a function of fully automatic detecting and choosing a measuring mode among the electric current, voltage and resistance measuring modes. A user only needs to turn on the electric power of the electric meter without performing any other procedures; he can get an accurate reading of the volume of electricity on the display screen. The meter is different from the manually selected clamping type meters with different functional positions for measuring the values of electric current, voltage and resistance. With the meter, damage to the main body of the electric meter in operating electric measuring and to the safety of the user himself can be avoided. This can significantly raise the industrial safety in measuring large volume of electric current, and can save actions and time for operating the electric meter, and convenience and efficiency in operating can be increased.

TL;DR: In this paper, an outdoor test field on the University of Paderborn has been set up to investigate efficiency and yield of most micro-inverters available on the world market in 2013-14.
Abstract: To investigate efficiency and yield of most micro-inverters available on the world market in 2013-14, an outdoor test field on the University of Paderborn has been set up. The inverters have been fed by identical & calibrated crystalline silicon PV modules of 215 W at STC. To monitor accurately AC power output and yield, each of the micro-inverters has been equipped with a calibrated precision electricity meter. For micro-inverters that require control units for grid-feeding this has been purchased also. The test field is equipped with pyranometers in the module plane for global and diffuse irradiance, temperature, wind speed and wind direction measurement. The comparison includes energy yield over almost one year, efficiency-load characteristics, recovery times after switch-off, cost comparisons (including control units necessary and wiring), basic safety, reliability, warranty duration comparisons, and lifetime costs for generated electricity. While the market is quite new, the range of purchase costs varies considerably between the models in comparison, sometimes inverter costs are higher than module costs.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors illustrate a cost-effective smart meter, which is designed to measure the demand's power consumption and support the new requirements for operation and control functions in the distribution networks.
Abstract: The main objective of this work is to illustrate a cost-effective smart meter. It is designed to measure the demand's power consumption and support the new requirements for operation and control functions in the distribution networks. Also, we propose and implement a novel DR program for this SM. The smart meter can be used as energy meter or as power quality meter (10 seconds, average). Based on open source technologies, it offers a plurality of communication possibilities, like USB, Ethernet, ZigBee or WLAN (802.11n). Additional calculations can be done within the external central system (DR Manager).

TL;DR: In this article, a wireless power meter reading system based on the two-dimensional code data transmission is presented, where a power meter data collector comprises a single-chip microcomputer and a first radio frequency transmission module.
Abstract: The present invention discloses a wireless power meter reading system based on the two-dimensional code data transmission. According to the invention, a power meter data collector comprises a single-chip microcomputer and a first radio frequency transmission module. The single-chip microcomputer includes a metering module and a two-dimensional code generating module connected with the metering module. The metering module is used for the power metering purpose. The two-dimensional code generating module is used for converting the power metering information, the coding of a concentrator correspondingly connected with the power meter data collector, and the address coding stored in the concentrator into two-dimensional code labels, and then dynamically displaying the obtained two-dimensional code labels. Each two-dimensional code label is endowed with a unique physical address. The single-chip microcomputer sends the two-dimensional code labels to the power meter data collector in the form of radio signals by means of the first radio frequency transmission module. The power meter data collector comprises an MCU, a second radio frequency transmission module and a GPRS module. The MCU is used for receiving the two-dimensional code labels in the form of radio signals by means of the second radio frequency transmission module, processing the two-dimensional code labels and then outputting the processed two-dimensional code labels by means of the GPRS module.
