TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed an intelligent telemetering ammeter based on a wireless sensor network. But the authors did not specify the hardware of the intelligent ammeter equipment, which consisted of an exclusive radio frequency unit, a microcontroller unit, power supply management unit, electrical power information collecting unit, an external storage unit, liquid crystal display unit and a fault detection unit.
Abstract: The invention discloses an intelligent telemetering ammeter based on a wireless sensor network. The hardware of the intelligent ammeter equipment comprises an exclusive radio frequency unit, a microcontroller unit, a power supply management unit, an electrical power information collecting unit, an external storage unit, a liquid crystal display unit and a fault detection unit. The intelligent ammeter has the functions of information collection, calculation, forwarding, routing, and the like. The intelligent ammeter automatically forms an ammeter network with other intelligent ammeters by the radio frequency unit, and is connected with a computer system of a power supply enterprise by a gateway. When used, the invention is connected with a wireless public utility product based on ZigBee technology to be used as a base station of other ammeter networks. The invention realizes the reliable connection between a remote power supply enterprise and electrical power users based on the wireless network, realizes the bidirectional transmission of data, and meets the electricity management requirements of residents by power supply enterprises.

TL;DR: Low sampling rate of monitored data is used to detect any change of power signal that obtained a 1 Hz sampling rates of active power from energy meter to point to four appliances including air conditioner television refrigerator and rice cooker.
Abstract: A Nonintrusive load monitoring (NILM) system is an energy demand monitoring and load identification system that only uses one instrument installed at main power distribution board. In this paper authors have used low sampling rate of monitored data to detect any change of power signal that obtained a 1 Hz sampling rate of active power from energy meter. Using Artificial Neural Network (ANN) for training steady-state real power and reactive power signatures. This paper point to four appliances including air conditioner television refrigerator and rice cooker. The results showed that in simulation test can disaggregation of appliances in correct detection rate 98% and in the installation test can disaggregation of appliances in correct detection rate 95%.

TL;DR: In this paper, a pass-through wall power plug is equipped with multiple transceivers for remote communication, including a night light, power meter, relay switch, voltage meter, beacon, proximity sensor or other electronic components.
Abstract: A pass through wall power plug is equipped with multiple transceivers for remote communication. The power plug may be equipped with transceivers operative in different modes or protocols. The power plug may function as a bridge between radio devices. It may function as a centralized access point for receiving and/or storing information from and transmitting information multiple connected electronic devices. The power plug may be equipped with a night light, power meter, relay switch, voltage meter, beacon, proximity sensor or other electronic components. The power plug may be made rotatable around its prongs, and may be configured to be stackable within a standard column of electrical outlets.

TL;DR: In this paper, a smart energy system for the residential customers is developed and a smart switch board which can curtail the need to upgrade to smart appliances to make the system more economic. But no effort has been made to develop an economic model for the customers which would play a key role in better acceptance of the scheme.
Abstract: Electrical utilities are suffering from huge losses due to power theft, inadequate usage of energy, unpaid bills, distorted power quality. Many viable solutions are proposed out of which smart energy metering, energy management system and smart home automation are some that seems to be potent enough. These technologies are presently used by developed countries. Under meter data acquisition system of Restructured Accelerated Power Development and Reform program (R-APDRP) scheme in the year 2009–10, India plans to develop Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI). But no effort has been made to develop an economic model for the customers which would play a key role in better acceptance of the scheme. In this paper, a smart energy system for the residential customers is developed and a smart switch board which can curtail the need to upgrade to smart appliances to make the system more economic. Further, a Virtual Instrumentation has been developed which can be operate in any computer to function as In Home Display (IHD) for Energy Management System (EMS).
