Abstract: A new Utility Meter and Display System for reading and displaying utility usage information within a building structure. The inventive device includes an encasement, a microprocessor within the encasement, a display, a keypad, and a printer within the encasement for printing selected information for the user. The microprocessor is electronically connected to a water meter, an electric meter, a gas meter and a telephone for reading the usage of the various utilities. The printer is electronically connected to the microprocessor for printing out selected screens on the display. The inventive device preferably includes a modem within for receiving billing information from the utility companies for determining the current rates.

Abstract: An electronic electric meter for use in a networked automatic meter reading environment. The meter includes a meter microcontroller, a measurement microcontroller, a communication microcontroller and spread spectrum processor, and a plurality of other communication interface modules for communicating commodity utilization and power quality data to a utility. The meter measures electricity usage and monitors power quality parameters for transmission to the utility over a spread spectrum local area network (LAN) to a remotely located gateway node. The gateway node transmits this data to the utility over a commercially available fixed wide area network (WAN). The meter also provides direct communication to the utility over a commercially available network interface that plugs into the meter's backplane or bus system, bypassing the local area network communication link and gateway node.

Abstract: The invention discloses an electricity information acquisition system based on dual-mode communication and a method thereof; the system includes a far-end master station, a concentrator and an intelligent electric energy meter; the far-end master station is used for acquisition and management of system electric power user electricity information through various wired or wireless communication channels, and is used for data exchange with the concentrator through a remote communication module; the concentrator is provided with a dual-mode communication module, and is used for acquiring intelligent electric energy meter data information and operation states through the dual-mode communication module, achieving local acquisition and monitoring of the electricity information, and uploading the local electric meter data information to the far-end master station through the remote communication module; the intelligent electric energy meter is provided with a dual-mode communication module and is responsible for electricity information measurement, data processing, real-time monitoring, automatic control and information exchange. The communication problem generated when a fault occurs due to single use of a micro power wireless or power line is avoided, the consumed power of a dual-mode communication chip is reduced, and the reliability of the communication is ensured.

Abstract: The invention relates to a dual mode heterogeneous communication system based on a low voltage power line and micropower wireless. The system comprises a master station, a concentrator, a collector, a smart electric meter and the like, wherein the master station is connected with the concentrator through a public communication network; the concentrator is connected with a district assessment main electric meter, a plurality of triphase smart electric meters, a single phase smart electric meter and the collector; the collector is provided with a plurality of RS 485 smart electric meters; the concentrator, the collector, the single phase smart electric meter and the triphase smart electric meters are connected through a wireless communication network or a carrier communication network, so that a dual mode concentrator route module and a dual mode electric meter module or a collector module are in cooperative work, a dual channel communication network with complete coverage in a district is established, and a whole network dual channel multitask dual mode communication is realized. In the dual mode heterogeneous communication system provided by the invention, weaknesses of various communication modes are complemented mutually, the problem of communication failure caused by line signal degradation or a far distance is solved, and the communication success rate and the communication efficiency are greatly improved.
