Abstract: Electronic energy meter has got numerous advantages over the conventional electromechanical meter and due to this; many countries of the world have switched to electronic metering system But unfortunately Pakistan is still deprived of such meters The paper is based on the final year project of the design & implementation of prepaid electronic energy meter which we are designing in order to eliminate the problems being faced by the Pakistani people By the introduction of prepaid system in Pakistan the problem of overcharging and over billing and the trouble being faced by the customers in paying the bills will be removed all together Since our meter is electronic in nature, it has got no moving parts and hence the problem of stability & accuracy due to temperature changes are solved Our meter is also tamper resistant which eradicates the chances of the theft of electricity

Abstract: An electricity meter coupled to a load, the load coupled to electrical power lines includes a sensor module having a sensor housing, voltage and current sensors secured within the sensor housing and a service disconnect switch secured within the housing. The voltage and current sensors are operable to receive voltage and current signals representative of voltage and current provided to the load and generate measurements signals therefrom. The service disconnect switch is operable to controllably disconnect and connect the load to the electrical power lines. The meter further includes a removable measurement module including a measurement circuit operable to receive the measurement signals and generate energy consumption data therefrom. The measurement module includes a device for communicating information relating to the energy consumption data. The measurement module is configured to be coupled to the sensor module to connect the measurement circuit to the voltage and current sensors. The sensor housing can include a disconnect switch having an actuator accessible external to the sensor housing, the actuator being inaccessible when the measurement module is coupled to the sensor module. The disconnect switch is operably connected to cause, when actuated, the service disconnect switch to change from the connected state to the disconnected state.

Abstract: Electronic energy meter is capable of taking readings and can store it into its memory Taking energy meter reading is time consuming and an expensive task The meter reader travels for a long distance and take the reading manually to prepare the bill Consumers have to go to the billing office, stand in a long line and submit the bill This is a boring job and time consuming also It can be avoided by remote monitoring of electronic energy meter and prepaid billing system by the use of cash card In this paper measurement of energy, remote monitoring, preparing of bill and billing system is presented Low cost ATMEGA8L microcontroller is used here to control the whole system Sampling of voltage and current is done by it Then it processes data to achieve power in that instant Then it stores the value of total energy consumed by the consumer and can calculate energy charge according to the tariff LCD display is attached with this system to show total energy consumed, power factor and amount of charge etc Communication between central energy distribution office and energy meter is done through power line Complex tariff rate set up and cash card based billing is possible in this system Electronic meter gives high accuracy for nonlinear loads than conventional rotating disc type electro-mechanical meter Greater accuracy and stability can be maintained in this system

Abstract: Method of commerce and system components that enable the sale of electricity on-request to independent vehicle operators for propulsion. Electricity could be delivered by conventional roadway overhead electric line components (see FIG. 2 ). Vehicles would be equipped with a computer-like component that contains an electricity meter, flow switches, and wireless communications capabilities (see FIG. 14 ) to communicate with an operations ( 12 ) computer site. Site would have customer credit profiles for approving distribution, wirelessly requested from customer vehicles. Vehicles would be additionally equipped with a robotic collector module ( 51 ). If implemented on a highway, the driver would request service while driving in an electrified lane via a user interface and, if approved, the robotic collector module ( 51 ) handles engaging electrical contact and disengaging when needed. Customer would be electronically billed for the electricity used. There is a continuous roadside monitoring network for improved safety and vehicle authentication (see FIG. 11, 12 ).
