TL;DR: Light transmitted through a resonant atomic system with electromagnetically induced transparency displays reduced phase-noise fluctuations because of the medium being inside a cavity.
Abstract: Light transmitted through a resonant atomic system with electromagnetically induced transparency displays reduced phase-noise fluctuations. For the case of the medium being inside a cavity, a 50% squeezing of the out-of-phase component is possible outside the cavity.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this paper, the absorption and dispersion in the atomic medium of a ladder system with electromagnetically induced lower-level interference was examined and the absorption-dispersion relation was discussed, showing that even if the probe field is in resonance with the corresponding atomic transition, the refraction index can still be made large with a vanishing absorption.
