TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of the amplitude of the middle applied load and of several material parameters on bond decay at the bar-concrete interface under variable fatigue loads is investigated.
Abstract: The bond decay at the bar–concrete interface under variable fatigue loads is investigated in this paper. Two kinds of loading paths are considered: low- and high-amplitude cycles. Based on the shear-lag model, the governing equations of the problem are established and solved with reference to three different interfacial degradation models. By the aid of Paris formula, the interfacial debonding rate, the debonded length, and the pull-out force are studied. The effect of the amplitude of the middle applied load and of several material parameters on bond decay is discussed. It is found that the power-degradation model is suitable for short embedment lengths, while both the linear-degradation model and the modified power-degradation model are advantageous in study of bond in long embedment length. It is also found that interfacial friction plays an important role in resisting interfacial debonding, in spite of the effects of Poisson's contraction.

TL;DR: Experimental tests demonstrate that there is a sharp drop in resistance to fatigue fracture when the grain size is increased from 75 to 150 micrometers, which is at least a partial explanation for fatigue fractures of the stems of total hip-joint prostheses reported in the literature.
Abstract: Experimental tests demonstrate that there is a sharp drop in resistance to fatigue fracture when the grain size is increased from 75 to 150 micrometers. This is at least a partial explanation for fatigue fractures of the stems of total hip-joint prostheses reported in the literature. It is also shown that plastic strains associated with fatigue stressing increase with increasing grain size so that loosening of the bone cement embedment may also be part of the premature failure process.

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of stress level on bearing capacity factor was investigated using finite element method with the employment of a wide range of stresses by using piles with dimensions starting from laboratory dimensions and goes towards field dimensions with embedment ratio range from (15-40).
Abstract: This study deals with assessing the effect of stress level on bearing capacity factor , distri bution of shear stresses at soil -pile interface along pile shaft, and presence of critical depth concept for bored piles axially loaded in compression and embedded in dense sand. These investigations are made using finite element method with the employment of a wide range of stresses by using piles with dimensions starting from laboratory dimensions and goes towards field dimensions with embedment ratio range from (15-40). The soil and the interface behavior is modeled using Duncan-Chang hyperbolic soil model with empirical equations account for reduction of angle of internal friction o with increasing in stress level. Bored pile is modeled as a linear elastic material. The results showed a dramatic decrease in bearing capacity factor as length of pile increase. It was also found that the embedment ratio has a significant effect in increasing bearing capacity factor , and the distribution of shear stresses at soil-pile interface is not linear and does not tend to take a constant value beyond a certain depth of pile nor decreases after a certain depth along pile shaft. The fallacy of critical depth also noticed and discussed in this paper.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a utility model for a motor stator core punching plate which comprises a yoke, a teeth, a plurality of wire embedment slots and a central hole.
Abstract: The utility model relates to a structure of a motor stator iron core punching plate which comprises a yoke, a teeth, a plurality of wire embedment slots and a central hole. The wire embedment slot is communicated with the central hole; the wire embedment slots are in U shapes and trapezoid shapes, wherein each wire embedment slot in the U shape is formed by an arc-shaped bottom, two straight line on two sides and a gradually-narrowed open top, and each wire embedment slot in the trapezoid shape is formed by a flat bottom, two straight lines on two sides and a gradually-narrowed open top; the wire embedment slots in the U shapes and the wire embedment slot in the trapezoid shapes are symmetrically distributed on a circumference with the internal diameter ranging from Phi 56m to Phi 62m; and the teeth have different width. The utility model makes the full use of materials to a higher degree, has more reasonable layout and optimally-designed shape and size, reduces the product cost and effectively improves the efficiency of the whole motor under the condition of meeting the requirement.
