Abstract: An emoticon display method, an apparatus, a computer-readable storage medium and a terminal are provided. The method includes: after obtaining a message sending instruction, determining a target motion picture display effect that is matched with a selected target emoticon in response to a detection of that a number of the target emoticons included in a sent target message satisfies a condition for motion picture displaying, wherein the target motion picture display effect designates a display manner of at least one emoticon element of the target emoticon; performing a motion picture displaying using the at least one emoticon element of the target emoticon on a message display interface in accordance with target motion picture display effect, wherein the content of the at least one emoticon element is consistent with the target emoticon. The present invention not only can display an emoticon in accordance with the original display effect, but also can perform a motion picture display of at least one emoticon element of the target emoticon. This kind of emoticon display method provides a more vivid display effect.
