TL;DR: The Epistle to the Hebrews has been and is the object of so much divergent theorizing in the history of modern exegesis that one is tempted to doubt whether any substantial agreement about it is possible, at least in the foreseeable future as discussed by the authors.
Abstract: The Epistle to the Hebrews has been and is the object of so much divergent theorizing in the history of modern exegesis that one is tempted to doubt whether any substantial agreement about it is possible, at least in the foreseeable future. A happy exception to this sad state of affairs is the rather general consensus on the literary genre of the "epistle". Inasmuch as the author of Hebrews himself says that his work is a X6yoq Tz'r x7apX?6?o s (xiii 22) 1), and inasmuch as this phrase denotes a homily in Acts xiii 15, the conclusion would seem to be that the "Epistle" to the Hebrews is basically a homily, with a few words attached at the end after the manner of a letter 2). For an understanding of the literary form of the epistle, then, it would seem advisable to study the form of the early homily. The most thorough discussion up to the present of the literary form of the homily with reference to Hebrews is that of HARTWIG THYEN, Der Stil der Jiidisch-Hellenistischen Homilie 3). It is THYEN's thesis that a number of Jewish and Christian writings in Greek in

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors take into account how people use their social media account for the Quran related content, and how is the notion of the social media exegesis as a contemporary exegis-tation as well as the fact that there are at least three different shapes of the current exegises: textual, contextual, and tafsīr`ilmī.
Abstract: The history of contemporary exegesis sees the integration between the Quran and exegesis and social media. A statistic shows the low reading rates of Indonesians while the reading activity is dominated by social media. It leads to an assumption that the social media exegesis is the one people read nowadays. This paper takes this phenomena into account within two main concerns: (1) how is the different ways people use their social media account for the Quran related content, and (2) how is the notion of the social media exegesis as a contemporary exegesis? The article ends to the conclusion that there are at least three different shapes of the social media exegesis: textual, contextual, and tafsīr `ilmī. It marks the rise of semantic function of the Quran among the people and the shift of authority of exegesis. There are three causes for it: the platform of social media, the availability of the Quran translation, and the paradigm of al-rujū` ilā al-qur`ān wa al-sunnah.

TL;DR: In this article, the main theme for study was the Divine Plan of Redemption (DPR) and the Epistle to the Hebrews was dealt with in the context in which it has come down to us as an important part of the divine revelation contained in Scripture as a whole.
Abstract: These lectures were given during the Vacation Term for Biblical Study held in Cambridge in August 1949. The main theme for study was ‘The Divine Plan of Redemption’. In dealing with the Epistle to the Hebrews I endeavoured to allow the Epistle to speak for itself and to present its great themes in the context in which the Epistle has come down to us, i.e. as an important part of the divine revelation contained in Scripture as a whole. To this end I have sought to use scholarship as the handmaid of exegesis; to refrain from sitting in any way in judgment upon the Epistle; and also to shun the fruitless task of separating those elements in it which may happen to be congenial to ‘the modern mind’ from those which many in our day would lay aside as the discredited reflections of a mental outlook of a bygone age. A Christian scholar who believes that the Bible consists of a record of a period of history, which is sacred history because in it God chose to make a unique self-disclosure of Himself, can adopt no other course.
