TL;DR: A base station PDCCH (Packet Data Control Channel) apparatus for scrambling transmission packet data to prevent other terminals from recognizing the transmissions packet data in a base station including an encoder encodes the control information and generates a coded control information stream comprised of a stream of a plurality of bits.
Abstract: A base station PDCCH (Packet Data Control Channel) apparatus for scrambling transmission packet data to prevent other terminals from recognizing the transmission packet data in a base station including a packet data channel device for transmitting packet data to a terminal and a packet data control channel device for transmitting control information needed for demodulation of the packet data to the terminal. In the apparatus, an encoder encodes the control information and generates a coded control information stream comprised of a stream of a plurality of bits. A scrambler generates a scrambling sequence using unique information known to only the terminal and the base station, and scrambles the coded control information stream with the scrambling sequence.

TL;DR: In this article, a transparent optical node (TON) structure for use in a two-connected optical packet switching architecture is proposed, where the header portion of the packet is removed from data portion and can be rewritten before reinsertion.
Abstract: A transparent optical node (TON) structure for use in a two-connected optical packet switching architecture. The TON is used in an interconnect employing deflection routing with two wavelength signaling where the data information of the packet resides on one wavelength λ 1 and the header information of the packet resides on a different wavelength λ 2 . The TON is capable of full switch functionality: packet routing, add/drop multiplexing and packet buffering. The header portion of the packet is removed from data portion and can be rewritten before reinsertion. This invention allows for the use of a previously developed TON to be used with two-wavelength signaling.

TL;DR: The authors demonstrate that excellent jitter control is achieved by gracefully trading image resolution, and loss rates can be drastically reduced by appropriate flow control.
Abstract: Describes a portable and robust software mechanism for adaptive frame rate control for real time packet video transfer and viewing in workstation environments. No special hardware or system support is assumed. It includes (1) a responsive feedback system for dynamic presentation layer rate control in response to network load, (2) a simple and effective transport layer flow control scheme built upon an unreliable network protocol, and (3) data structures and scheduling support for integrating the rate and flow control mechanisms. The authors demonstrate that excellent jitter control is achieved by gracefully trading image resolution, and loss rates can be drastically reduced by appropriate flow control. >

TL;DR: An efficient IP packet forwarding methodology and architecture is presented by partitioning the lookup table into smaller ones for each output port and allowing a forwarding engine to process them in parallel.
Abstract: We present an efficient IP packet forwarding methodology and architecture. This is achieved by partitioning the lookup table into smaller ones for each output port and allowing a forwarding engine to process them in parallel. This effectively reduces the complexity of the problem of finding "the longest prefix match" to that of finding "the first prefix match".

TL;DR: In this article, a control packet is only sent with a retransmission of a data packet where the previously transmitted data packet is not completely received, and the control packet contains information related to a previously transmitted packet.
Abstract: A method for wireless communications where a control packet is not transmitted for all transmissions of a new data packet. A control packet is only sent with a retransmission of a data packet where the previously transmitted data packet is not completely received. The control packet contains information related to a previously transmitted data packet. The previously transmitted data packet and the retransmission data packet are derived from common data. The common data is derived based on the information related to the previously transmitted data packet, wherein the previously transmitted data packet and the retransmission data packet are associated with a series of data packets.
