TL;DR: In this paper, a Ka-band offset hybrid antenna with a shaped focuser was proposed. But the shape of the focuser is not specified in the design of the antenna.
Abstract: A Ka-band offset hybrid antenna having a shaped focuser is disclosed. The Ka-band offset hybrid antenna having a shaped focuser, including: a shaped focuser for reflecting a received plane wave to focus an energy of the received plane wave on an offset focal line and reflecting a transmitting signal; and an active feed array module for receiving the reflected received plane wave from the shaped focuser and radiating the transmitting signal to the shaped focuser antenna, wherein the active feed array module including a feed horn array antenna having a plurality of single horns and an active channel block (ACB) having multi-active channels for changing a direction angle of transceiving beam.

TL;DR: In this paper, a spherical wave expansion of the experimental radiation pattern of the specific antenna being tested, rather than evaluation of an assumed analytical model, is compared to experimental near-field pattern data.
Abstract: Gain measurement of a horn antenna using three different techniques is discussed The methods include a two-antenna insertion loss measurement, a pattern integration method, and a near-field measurement method The application of the pattern integration method is considered, as well as the evaluation of the near-field gain correction factors for the horn, which are determined by a method based directly on measured data This method involves a spherical wave expansion of the experimental radiation pattern of the specific antenna being tested, rather than evaluation of an assumed analytical model The spherical wave expansion is also compared to experimental near-field pattern data

TL;DR: In this article, a simple SIW H-plane horn antenna with a loaded open cavity is introduced, which results in a wide and constant impedance bandwidth, which has been hard to achieve by a single SIW horn antenna.
Abstract: A simple SIW H-plane horn antenna with a loaded open cavity is introduced. The new combination of the SIW H-plane horn and the open cavity results in a wide and constant impedance bandwidth, which has been hard to achieve by a single SIW horn antenna. Besides matching improvement, the new configuration results in higher gain with radiation pattern focused in antenna aperture. The longitudinal size of the structure is kept as the simple SIW horn; however, it is three times thicker than the simple horn.

TL;DR: In this paper, a dual-mode corrugated matched feed horn was used as a primary feed device to illuminate a linearly polarized offset parabolic reflector antenna and the improvement in the cross-polarization was estimated.
Abstract: This article presents the design and radiation characteristics of a dual-mode corrugated matched feed horn. This type of feed eliminates the unwanted high cross-polarization of an offset parabolic reflector antenna and improves the overall performance of the antenna sub-system. In a cylindrical corrugated structure, higher order HE21 mode is added with the fundamental HE11 mode to configure a dual-mode corrugated horn. For the proposed horn, the return-loss characteristics and the far-field radiation patterns were measured and the results are compared with the simulated results. The horn has been used as a primary feed device to illuminate a linearly polarized offset parabolic reflector antenna and the improvement in the cross-polarization has been estimated. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
