TL;DR: In this paper, a parabolic array is configured to transmit and receive radio beam patterns with one or more Orbital Angular Momentum states "l" via a transceiver feed assembly.
Abstract: Systems and methods for transmitting and receiving radio waves includes a parabolic dish, a focal plane antenna array configuration antenna elements arranged in a circular array configuration with array elements positioned along circumference of rings with a distance between each element and coupled a focal disc positioned along a focal plane of the parabolic dish. The array is configured to transmit and receive radio beam patterns with one or more Orbital Angular Momentum states ‘l’ via a transceiver feed assembly. The transceiver includes a transmitter adapted to alter excitation phase of the radio beams of successive elements and generate helical wave fronts in the far-field, and a receiver to enhance the received wave fronts. A total field received by the array configuration is then calculated by a superposition of the fields received by each of the elements.

TL;DR: In this paper, the focusing and phasing criteria for a paraboloidal microwave antenna system were derived by applying optical laws and ray tracing techniques to the reflector reflectors, and two types of midpoint correctors were discussed.
Abstract: By applying optical laws and ray tracing techniques to paraboloidal reflectors, it has been possible to derive the focusing and phasing criteria for obtaining wide angle performance of a paraboloidal microwave antenna system. Although this optics approach represents an approximation to the exact solutions, the experimental results indicate it is satisfactory for practical uses. The analysis indicates the sections of the paraboloidal reflecting surface best suited to line source correction. The reflector peripheral contour which tends to minimize sidelobes has been indicated. Two types of midpoint correctors are discussed. These will produce beams fanned in the elevation plane and well focused in the azimuth plane. Experimental results are presented from a midpoint corrector covering 60 degrees in elevation while maintaining well focused azimuth patterns over the entire elevation interval. Several pencil beams may be produced using one reflector by placing ridge line correctors at the appropriate angles on the focusing surfaces.

TL;DR: In this paper, a model of the illumination function of a cassegrain reflector for a corrugated horn feed is presented and compared with the widely used quadratic on a pedestal function.
Abstract: A model of the illumination function of cassegrain reflector for a corrugated horn feed is presented here. A conical corrugated feed horn designed for a Ku band cassegrain reflector is simulated. The simulation data is compared to the illumination function. Comparison between the developed illumination function and the widely used quadratic on a pedestal function is also presented. Finally, the developed illumination function is used to calculate the radiation pattern of the cassegrain reflector by evaluating the aperture field integration.

TL;DR: In this paper, a transmitter and a receiver are equipped with a plurality of antennas respectively, the transmitter sends a pilot signal, and the receiver receives the pilot signal and a transmitting method for the signal from the transmitter is selected and reported to the transmitter, which transmits the signal by the transmitting method so that the signal separation on the reception side becomes easy.
Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in which different signals transmitted from respective transmitting antennas at the same time cannot be separated on a reception side and the received signal quality greatly deteriorates before when the number of the transmitting antennas are more than the number of receiving antennas SOLUTION: A transmitter and a receiver are equipped with a plurality of antennas respectively, the transmitter sends a pilot signal, and the receiver receives the pilot signal, transmission-related information corresponding to the pilot signal is calculated, and a transmitting method for the signal from the transmitter is selected and reported to the transmitter, which transmits the signal by the transmitting method, so that the signal separation on the reception side becomes easy COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI

TL;DR: In this paper, a modification to the halfplane diffraction coefficients is given for a plane wave incident on a curved screen, which is used to calculate the near field of a parabolic reflector under plane-wave illumination.
Abstract: A modification to the halfplane diffraction coefficients is given for a plane wave incident on a curved screen. The result is used to calculate the near field of a parabolic reflector under plane-wave illumination. Comparison with the physical-optics method shows excellent agreement.
