TL;DR: A suitable choice of the spatial separation among the individual transmit/receive antennas guarantees not only the possibility to re-use the frequency band but also an increase in the power efficiency respect to a single-input-single-output system.
Abstract: The use of multiple antennas both at transmitter and receiver improves the spectral efficiency in wireless communications. We propose a multiple antenna system, which is tailored for the scenario of line-of-sight fixed radio. The interference is removed by means of an equalizer operating at the receiver side without any onerous pre-processing at the transmit side. A suitable choice of the spatial separation among the individual transmit/receive antennas guarantees not only the possibility to re-use the frequency band but also an increase in the power efficiency respect to a single-input-single-output system.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors described a deployable antenna system for a spacecraft that is moveable from a stowed position to a deployed position, which includes one or more feed horn assembly and a rotatable hinge attached to the spacecraft.
Abstract: Deployable antenna systems 10, 10a for use on a spacecraft 20 that is moveable from a stowed position to a deployed position. Two embodiments are discloded that include one or two sets of main reflector assembly 16 (and optional adjustment mechanism 18) and subreflectors 17. The antenna systems include one or more feed horn assembly 11 fixedly attached to the spacecraft and a rotatable hinge 12 attached to the spacecraft. A substantially rigid reflector support structure 13 is attached to the hinge and rotates about a hinge axis. The main reflector assembly 16 (and optional adjustment mechanism 18) is attached to a lower portion 14 of the support structure and the subreflector is attached to an upper portion 15 of the support structure. The subreflector has a fixed relation relative to the main reflector assembly and has a fixed relation relative to the one or more feed horn assembly when the antenna system is in the deployed position so that the antenna systems generate predetermined beam coverage patterns.

04 Dec 2007TL;DR: In this article, a new shaped reflector antenna for wide beam azimuthal patterns and a cosecant squared elevation pattern was presented, where elliptical strips instead of parabolic strips were used in horizontal planes of the reflector surface to achieve this purpose.
Abstract: This paper presents a new shaped reflector antenna for wide beam azimuthal patterns and a cosecant squared elevation pattern. Elliptical strips instead of parabolic strips are used in horizontal planes of the reflector surface to achieve this purpose. Simulation and measurement results of the shaped reflector fed by a ridged horn antenna are presented.

TL;DR: In this article, a linear array of crossed dipoles above a ground plane is used as a circularly polarized feed for an offset parabolic cylinder antenna, which achieves aperture efficiencies as high as 0.89 with uniform field distribution along the array.
Abstract: The feed design described is a linear array of crossed dipoles above a ground plane. The radiation patterns of the longitudinal and the transverse dipoles are made equal by parallel longitudinal rods, referred to as beam forming rods or beam matching rods. When used as a circularly polarized feed for an offset parabolic cylinder antenna, aperture efficiencies (spillover included) as high as 0.89 are potentially available if the field distribution along the array is uniform. The beam patterns of the feed were computed both by the method of moments and the geometrical theory of diffraction and are compared with patterns measured on a model at 1.5 GHz. A method of matching the impedance for both linear polarizations is proposed using parallel impedance matching rods.
