TL;DR: The present communication incorporates an account of chromosome morphology in both sexes of the Himalayan flying squirrel Petaurista magnificus Hodgson to improve knowledge of mammalian chromosomes with reliable accuracy.
Abstract: Improvement of techniques for karyological work has increased our knowledge of mammalian chromosomes with reliable accuracy. While the chromosome complement of many rodent species has been successfully worked out the karyological information on the flying squirrels is meagre. It is restricted to only four species (Nadler and Sutton, 1967; Nadler and Lay, 1971; Garg and Sharma, 1972 and Schindler ei al., 1973). The present communication incorporates an account of chromosome morphology in both sexes of the Himalayan flying squirrel Petaurista magnificus Hodgson.
