TL;DR: In this paper, the authors compared male participants in rugby, tennis, athletics, cricket, swimming, squash and karate with regard to their personal, home, social and formal relationships.
Abstract: Differences between male participants in different kinds of sport with regard to personal, domestic, social and formal relationships. A review of the relevant literature has yielded a significant relationship between personality and the social structure of sport. Differences occur between participants and nonparticipants in sport, and among participants in different kinds of sport. The object of this study was to compare male participants in rugby, tennis, athletics, cricket, swimming, squash and karate with regard to their personal, home, social and formal relationships. Significant differences were found.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a change in orientation of independent living centers to become more involved in health care, which could present valuable opportunities for medical rehabilitation providers. But, these community-based, consumer-directed service and advocacy centers have not been substantially involved in the health care issues of their consumers and have not established formal relationships with the Health Care industry.
Abstract: I NDEPENDENT LIVING centers are organizations that are intended to enhance the ability of people with disabilities to live independently in their communities.’ Traditionally, these community-based, consumer-directed service and advocacy centers have not been substantially involved in the health care issues of their consumers and have not established formal relationships with the health care industry. Recently, increases in health care cost pressures and the growth of managed care have raised the concerns of many people with disabilities about their ability to access quality care,2 increasing the imperative for independent living centers to become more involved in health care. This change in orientation could present valuable opportunities for medical rehabilitation providers.

TL;DR: This article presents a proposal for representing, in computer systems, formal and informal relations between employees and the consequent integration in organizational processes in order to provide automatic diagnosis of highlighted processes.
Abstract: The computerization of relevant information in organizations is increasingly becoming a necessary reality in companies that want to be present in a market that is characterized by innovation, adapt...

TL;DR: In this paper, a social network of service provider and service recipient teams is analyzed from a global perspective of the provider organization, that is, the representation and analysis and recommendations are internally driven by a service provider organization.
Abstract: A social network of service provider and service recipient teams, which in turn is analyzed from a global perspective of the provider organization, that is, the representation and analysis and recommendations are internally driven by a service provider organization. Informal and formal relationships alike can be noted in the network representation. The nodes in the networks are team members from the provider and client organizations. The key decision makers in the client organizations are marked out in the graph. Each client node has an orientation which reflects whether the person has a positive orientation or negative orientation overall, globally and at a current point in time, towards the service provider organization. The client organization and the internal relationships can initially be assumed to be embodied by formal and functional relationships that are already well known and established, and yet can be adapted at later times.

TL;DR: This paper describes an informal collaboration between industrial design students working in conjunction with biomedical engineering students running the Helping Hand Project, a student-run non-profit organisation that provides children with upper limb prosthetic devices.
Abstract: It is well-accepted that multidisciplinary collaborations produce higher quality product development output than work from singular disciplines. Partnerships between industrial designers and engineers are desirable and ever-present in academic institutions. Though attractive, there are logistical challenges that make these formal relationships time-consuming and complicated. This paper describes an informal collaboration between industrial design students working in conjunction with biomedical engineering students running the Helping Hand Project (HHP), a student-run non-profit organisation that provides children with upper limb prosthetic devices. Industrial design students applied human-centred design methodologies that addressed the needs of children with reduced hand function. Biomedical engineering students acted as a non-profit client and knowledge experts on the topic and were heavily involved throughout the project, but not directly responsible for the final deliverables. A survey was conducted to collect industrial design student’s self-reported assessments on interdisciplinary (interdisciplinary skills, reflective behaviour, and the ability to recognise interdisciplinary). This type of relationship, albeit informal in the current implementation, can be useful for students seeking insights into the working processes of other disciplines as well as understanding professional working relationships. The development of interdisciplinary skills within informal collaborations is the precursors to successful collaboration with outside disciplines.
