TL;DR: In this paper, the spin-orbit interval between the XΩ = 1.5 and X Ω = 2.5 has been measured and the results of both laser excitation and Fourier transform spectroscopy confirm the assignment of X2.5 as the ground state.

TL;DR: In this paper, the A 2 Δ −X 2 Π electronic transition of the CCN free radical was observed in emission with a high-resolution Fourier transform spectrometer.
Abstract: The A 2Δ–X 2Π electronic transition of the CCN free radical was observed in emission with a high‐resolution Fourier transform spectrometer. The CCN was jet‐cooled in a corona‐excited supersonic jet expansion of diazoacetonitrile (HC(N2)CN) in helium. From the 000–000, 000–001, 000–002, and 000–100 vibronic bands spectroscopic constants were derived including the ground‐state vibrational frequencies, ν3=1050.7636(6), 2ν3=2094.8157(18), and ν1=1923.2547(69) cm−1.

Abstract: Absorption spectroscopy in the vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) domain was performed on the hydrogen-deuteride molecule with a novel Fourier-transform spectrometer based upon wavefront division interferometry. This unique instrument, which is a permanent endstation of the undulator-based beamline DESIRS on the synchrotron SOLEIL facility, opens the way to Fourier-transform spectroscopy in the VUV range. The HD spectral lines in the Lyman and Werner bands were recorded in the 87–112 nm range from a quasi-static gas sample in a windowless configuration and with a Doppler-limited resolution. Line positions of some 268 transitions in the Lyman bands and 141 transitions in the Werner bands were deduced with uncertainties of 0.04 cm−1 (1σ) which correspond to Δλ/λ ∼ 4 × 10−7. This extensive laboratory database is of relevance for comparison with astronomical observations of H2 and HD spectra from highly redshifted objects, with the goal of extracting a possible variation of the proton-to-electron mass ratio (μ = m p /m...

TL;DR: The present work paves the way for ultrabroadband XUV spectroscopy and studies of ultrafast dynamics in all states of matter.
Abstract: We present time-resolved studies and Fourier transform spectroscopy of inner-shell excited states undergoing Auger decay and doubly excited autoionizing states, utilizing coherent extreme-ultraviolet (XUV) radiation continua. Series of states spanning a range of ∼4 eV are excited simultaneously. An XUV probe pulse tracks the oscillatory and decaying evolution of the formed wave packet. The Fourier transform of the measured trace reproduces the spectrum of the series. The present work paves the way for ultrabroadband XUV spectroscopy and studies of ultrafast dynamics in all states of matter.
