TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a new effective scheme, called reduced retransmission of MPDUs (RRM) scheme, to solve the problem when block ACK request and response frames are missing or received in error.
Abstract: IEEE 802.11n standard has introduced the new schemes in MAC and PHY layers to improve network throughput. Frame aggregation and Block ACK are mainly defined to increase the efficiency of the MAC layer. There exists still problem in IEEE 802.11n. When block ACK request and/or response frames are missing or received in error, the sender does not know the status (success/failure) of each frame in the aggregated large frame and retransmits all the frames. This can cause a lower network performance. To solve this problem, we propose a new effective scheme, called reduced retransmission of MPDUs (RRM) scheme. In the proposed scheme, when a sender does not receive a block ACK response frame, it just transmits a next data frame and requests a block ACK. Therefore, it can retransmits the erroneous frames. Performance of the proposed scheme is investigated by simulation. Our results show that the proposed scheme is very effective and improves the performance under a wide range of channel error conditions.

TL;DR: In this article, a MAC frame aggregation method and apparatus for MPDU data transmission is presented, under a condition that an existing MPDUs type and format are not changed, by analyzing a type and a destination address of a head part of an MPU.
Abstract: Disclosed are a MAC frame aggregation method and apparatus. Whether an MPDU is aggregated and the aggregation mode determined according to a type and a destination address of the MPDU. By using a MAC frame aggregation technology of the present invention, under a condition that an existing MPDU type and format are not changed, by analyzing a type and a destination address of a head part of an MPDU, data transmission meeting robust and high-throughput requirements can be implemented.

TL;DR: This work proposes Grouping scheme to reduce the collision rate of Wireless LAN’s using IEEE 802.11n-2009 standard, where the stations are grouped and a leader is elected and only the leaders of respective group contend; which decrease the collision.
Abstract: A network should be highly scalable i.e. high data rates, high throughput, and low errors. Usage of Wireless LAN’s using IEEE 802.11n-2009 standard has increased in the number of stations. As the number of stations increases the path becomes congested and will lead to collisions. The IEEE 802.11n-2009 standard provides a high data rate of 100 Mbps at the physical layer but not that data speed at MAC layer. The techniques like the frame aggregation and block-ACK frames does increase the efficiency at MAC layer but none reduce the collision. Hence collision control is much necessary for achieving high data rates to serve large number of stations. We propose Grouping scheme to reduce the collision rate. Here the stations are grouped and a leader is elected. Only the leaders of respective group contend; which decrease the collision. We compare our simulation results with the DCF with frame aggregation and without frame aggregation.
