TL;DR: In this article, the amplitude and phase dispersions of the radiation field and also the coordinates of the maximum of the field intensity are investigated for a circular aperture focused in the Fresnel zone.
Abstract: In this paper the field fluctuation of a circular aperture focused in the Fresnel zone caused by the phase errors of the aperture distribution is investigated. Analytic expressions for the amplitude and phase dispersions of the radiation field and also for the coordinates of the maximum of the field intensity are given. The relation between the amplitude and phase dispersions and the statistical parameters of the phase errors and also the focal distance are investigated. The presented results illustrate that the performance of an antenna in its Fresnel zone is notably limited by the phase errors of the aperture distribution.

TL;DR: In this paper, the experimental focusing and propagation characteristics of a He-Ne laser passing through a laser pipe under an effect of the laser reflection and scattering from the inner surface of the pipe at atmospheric pressure were investigated.
Abstract: A new laser-based alignment system utilizing Fresnel zone plates (FZPs) is under development in order to precisely align accelerator components along an ideal straight line at the KEKB injector linac. We experimentally investigate focusing and propagation characteristics of a He-Ne laser passing through a laser pipe under an effect of the laser reflection and scattering from the inner surface of the pipe at atmospheric pressure. In a case of the large effect, it may cause the reduction of the alignment precision. In this report, the experimental focusing and propagation characteristics of the laser utilizing circular FZPs at the focal region are described in detail.

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of turbulent optical media on channel parameters in multichannel satellite system was investigated and the authors investigated what optimization helps to improve the channel parameters and how the parameters can be improved by changing the structure in case of inadequate aperture diameter.
Abstract: Our investigations primarily focus on the effect of turbulent optical media on channel parameters in multi-connection satellite system. We examined optical systems with the smallest size of optical units. In these systems, the optical lens diameter and the distance between the transmitter and receiver side apertures are less than twice the Fresnel zone. Due to the small distance between the same side lenses, the correlation between irradiance is significant. We have investigated what optimization helps to improve the channel parameters and how the parameters can be improved by changing the structure in case of inadequate aperture diameter. Our experiments were performed on multichannel system on moderate and weak turbulent media.

TL;DR: In this article, a radial amplitude mask is used for depth invariant point spread function and extended depth-of-field imaging, which can be used to realize extended depth of field imaging.
Abstract: We propose a novel lensless camera equipping a radial amplitude mask for realizing extended depth-of-field imaging. Here we report simulation results of depth invariant point spread function and extended depth-of-field imaging.
