Abstract: A metric form which was derived in an investigation of the electromagnetic null field is subjected to Einstein’s gravitationalfield equations. The cosmological form of the field equations is used and a new class of solutions is obtained. It is shown that these solutions contain the Einstein and Schwarzschild-de Sitter solutions as special cases. A particular solution which appears to give rise to a generalization of the Schwarzschild metric is presented.
