TL;DR: This correspondence deals with the problems of analysis and design for a class of continuous-time Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy control systems, and the bound of the time derivatives of the fuzzy basis functions is not required.
Abstract: This correspondence deals with the problems of analysis and design for a class of continuous-time Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy control systems. Sufficient conditions for the stability of fuzzy control systems are derived based on a fuzzy Lyapunov function. Both parallel and nonparallel distributed compensation controllers are considered. Sufficient conditions for the solvability of the controller design problem are given in the form of linear matrix inequalities. Unlike the fuzzy Lyapunov function approaches reported in the literature, the bound of the time derivatives of the fuzzy basis functions is not required in the proposed approaches. The effectiveness of the proposed approaches is shown through a numerical example.

TL;DR: A new fuzzification circuit, which requires only one differential pair per membership function is proposed, which does not require signal division, and it produces control surfaces similar to classical fuzzy controllers.
Abstract: In this paper, a nonconventional structure for a "fuzzy" controller is proposed. It does not require signal division, and it produces control surfaces similar to classical fuzzy controllers. The structure combines fuzzification, MIN operators, normalization, and weighted sum blocks. The fuzzy architecture is implemented as a VLSI chip using 2-/spl mu/m n-well technology. A new fuzzification circuit, which requires only one differential pair per membership function is proposed. Eight equally spaced membership functions are used in the VLSI implementation. Simple voltage MIN circuits are used for rule selection. A modified Takagi-Sugeno approach with normalization and weighted sum is used in the defuzzification circuit. Weights in the defuzzifier are digitally programmable with 6-bits resolution.

TL;DR: It is shown that, by providing an ordering over the criteria, a fair procedure can be obtained for aggregation of linear orders for fuzzy MCDM, the basic methodology for representing multicriterion decision-making functions with fuzzy sets.
Abstract: Issues in the use of fuzzy set theory for decision and control are examined. The basic methodology for representing multicriterion decision-making (MCDM) functions with fuzzy sets is examined. A procedure for aggregating criteria which judge the alternatives with linear orderings is analyzed. It is shown that, by providing an ordering over the criteria, a fair procedure can be obtained for aggregation of linear orders. Two issues central to use of fuzzy logic control are investigated. The problem of aggregating the outputs of the individual rules is examined to form overall controller fuzzy output. Two families of aggregation procedures are proposed, one based on an orlike aggregation and one based on an andlike aggregation. Defuzzification is discussed. A parameterized family of defuzzification operators based upon the BADD transformation is introduced. The operation of nonmonotonic intersection is studied, and it is shown that it can form the basis for the introduction of a prioritization among criteria in fuzzy MCDM. >

TL;DR: A new methodology for solving matrix games with payoffs of Atanassov's intuitionistic fuzzy (I-fuzzy) numbers is developed and a difference-index-based ranking method is developed, which is proven to be a total order.
Abstract: The aim of this paper is to develop a new methodology for solving matrix games with payoffs of Atanassov's intuitionistic fuzzy (I-fuzzy) numbers. In this methodology, we define the concepts of I-fuzzy numbers and the value-index and ambiguity-index and develop a difference-index-based ranking method, which is proven to be a total order. By doing this, the parameterized nonlinear programming models are derived from a pair of auxiliary I-fuzzy mathematical programming models, which are used to determine solutions of matrix games with payoffs of I-fuzzy numbers. The validity and applicability of the models and method proposed in this paper are illustrated with a practical example.
