TL;DR: In this article, a system for transporting the gas in a liquefied state and delivering it to a storage vessel in a vaporized or gaseous state is described. But the system is not suitable for the transportation of large amounts of liquid gas.
Abstract: A cryogenic gas transportation and delivery system for transporting the gas in a liquefied state and delivering it to a storage vessel in a vaporized or gaseous state. The system includes a mobile chassis, a vacuum-jacketed delivery vessel for storing the gas in the liquefied state, a vaporizer for vaporizing the liquefied gas into a vaporized state, and a compressor or pump to transfer the gas through the system so that it is delivered to the storage vessel as a compressed gas. When a compressor is used, the compressor is disposed between the vaporizer and the storage vessel. When a liquid pump is used, the pump is installed between the delivery vessel and the vaporizer.

TL;DR: In this article, a method, system, and machine-readable storage medium for diagnosing operation in a turbocharged engine having an engine control module (ECM) operable to control engine operation in response to data received from a plurality of sensors is disclosed.
Abstract: A method, system, and machine-readable storage medium for diagnosing operation in a turbocharged engine having an engine control module (ECM) operable to control engine operation in response to data received from a plurality of sensors is disclosed. In operation, the method, system, and machine-readable storage medium store data corresponding to a compressor map defining a region of compressor efficiency and compressor speeds during operation, and a turbine map defining a region of turbine efficiency and turbine speeds during operation. Next, the method, system and apparatus determine a predicted value for an operating parameter using data received from selected ones of the plurality of sensors and the data stored in memory, determine an actual value for the operating parameter using data received from selected ones of the plurality of sensors, and generate an abnormal operation signal if a difference between actual and predicted values is greater than a predetermined amount.

TL;DR: In this paper, a system for estimating absolute boost pressure in a turbocharged internal combustion engine includes a pressure sensor producing a pressure signal indicative of the pressure of air entering a turbocharger compressor inlet, a temperature sensor measuring the temperature entering the compressor, and a first speed sensor indicating the rotational speed of the turbocharged engine.
Abstract: A system for estimating absolute boost pressure in a turbocharged internal combustion engine includes a pressure sensor producing a pressure signal indicative of the pressure of air entering a turbocharger compressor inlet, a temperature sensor producing a temperature signal indicative of the temperature entering the compressor inlet, a first speed sensor producing a first speed signal indicative of the rotational speed of the turbocharger, a second speed sensor producing a second speed signal indicative of the rotational speed of the engine, and a control computer estimating the absolute boost pressure as a function of the pressure signal, the temperature signal, the first speed signal and the second speed signal.

TL;DR: In this article, a variable speed-driven motor is used to drive the compressor of a chiller, which does not require or employ an oil-based lubrication system, and achieves an optimized part load chiller performance.
Abstract: A refrigeration chiller employs a centrifugal compressor the impellers of which are mounted on a shaft which is itself mounted for rotation using rolling element bearings lubricated only by the refrigerant which constitutes the working fluid of the chiller system. Apparatus is taught for providing liquid refrigerant to (1.) the bearings immediately upon chiller start-up, during chiller operation and during a coastdown period subsequent to shutdown of the chiller and (2.) the drive motor of the chiller's compressor for motor cooling purposes. By use of a variable speed-driven motor to drive the compressor, optimized part load chiller performance is achieved in a chiller which does not require or employ an oil-based lubrication system.

TL;DR: In this paper, a multiband compressor suitable for compressing the dynamic range of an audio signal in a broadcasting system is disclosed, which has the advantages of both the wideband compressors and multiband compressors without the disadvantages of these compressors.
Abstract: A multiband compressor suitable for compressing the dynamic range of an audio signal in a broadcasting system is disclosed. The frequency band with the highest predictable energy is selected as a master band with the energy level in this band used to control the gain in the other (slave) bands. When the energy in a slave band exceeds a predetermined level, additional control of the signal level in that band occurs. The described compressor has the advantages of both the wideband compressors and multiband compressors without the disadvantages of these compressors. In addition to the compressor, a unique overshoot protection circuit is described.
