TL;DR: In this article, a hybrid liquid desiccant air-conditioning system consisting of a conventional liquid-desiccant system and a vapour compression heat pump is presented. But the main feature of this system is that the absorber and regenerator are integrated with the evaporator and condenser respectively.

Abstract: To provide a method for recovering carbon dioxide, in which thermal energy for regenerating a CO2 absorbing solution and power for compressing the recovered CO2 are supplied, and high thermal efficiency is achieved, and a system therefor. A system for recovering carbon dioxide including a high pressure turbine 3, an intermediate pressure turbine 7, and a low pressure turbine 8; a boiler 1 for generating steam for driving the turbines; an absorption tower 18 filled with a CO2 absorbing solution for absorbing and removing CO2 from combustion exhaust gas of the boiler; a regeneration tower 24 for regenerating the absorbing solution having absorbed CO2; a compressor 42 for compressing the removed CO2; a turbine 41 for a compressor, which is driven by some of the exhaust steam of the high pressure turbine; turbines 51 and 52 for auxiliary machinery, which are driven by some of the exhaust steam of the intermediate pressure turbine; and supply pipes 45 and 55 for supplying exhaust steam of the compressor turbine and the auxiliary machinery turbines to a reboiler 30 of the regeneration tower as a heating source.

TL;DR: In this paper, an improved system was proposed to provide cooling air to the turbine blades of a gas turbine engine, which includes the combination of an inducer to receive pressurized cooling air from the compressor and then to direct this cooling air in a substantially tangential direction to a radial flow impeller which includes an air seal.
Abstract: An improved system provides cooling air to the turbine blades of a gas turbine engine. The improved system includes the combination of an inducer to receive pressurized cooling air from the compressor and then to direct this cooling air in a substantially tangential direction to a radial flow impeller which includes an air seal. Cooling air is directed to the turbine blades which are mounted on the rim of the rotating first turbine disk. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, a second portion of the cooling air from the inducer is conveyed through a deswirler to introduce the cooling air into a circumferential channel surrounding the rotor shaft. The cooling air is then directed to a second inducer means which is mounted on the higher pressure turbine disk. The cooling air is then directed to a second annular impeller mounted on the lower pressure turbine disk to convey this portion of cooling air to the lower pressure turbine rotor blades.

TL;DR: In this article, an oxygen concentrator is utilized in combination with a compressor to provide a highly enriched and compressed oxygen gas in a mobile container such as a gas cylinder, which provides facile preparation of an enriched source of oxygen for use by an ambulatory or wheelchair-confined patient.
Abstract: An oxygen concentrator is utilized in combination with a compressor to provide a highly enriched and compressed oxygen gas in a mobile container such as a gas cylinder. The combination and method of production provides for the facile preparation of an enriched source of oxygen for use by an ambulatory or wheelchair-confined patient. The oxygen concentrator utilizes two or more molecular sieves to provide a breathable gas of from approximately 80 to about 98 percent oxygen from atmospheric air. The oxygen-enriched gas is stored in a concentrator product tank and can be prioritized so as to supply a patient with a proper amount and concentration of oxygen and secondarily to supply any surplus or excess enriched oxygen to a compressor. The compressor utilizes multiple stages to produce the highly compressed oxygen-enriched gas and utilizes a two-part piston at low rpm to enhance low wear and low noise. The multiple pistons of the compressor can either all rotate at one RPM or in an alternative embodiment, at least a first piston can rotate at a higher RPM than any remaining pistons. Desirably, at least the initial piston of the alternative embodiment is driven by one drive shaft source with one or more other remaining pistons being driven by a second drive shaft.
