TL;DR: In this paper, a heat pump consisting of a compressor, a condenser, an expansion valve and an evaporator is used for central heating and also to supply hot water, and a spring loaded valve enables both heating systems to be short circuited to assist starting up.
Abstract: A heat pump consisting of a compressor, a condenser, an expansion valve and an evaporator is used for central heating and also to supply hot water. The refrigerant in the evaporator receives heat from the ambient air which is drawn in through a duct by a fan. This heat, together with the heat contributed by the compressor heats the water flowing through the condenser which then flows through radiators. When required, additional heat can be provided by an electric or gas heater which is activated by a thermostat. A change-over valve enables domestic hot water tank to be heated instead of the radiators. A spring loaded valve enables both heating systems to be short circuited to assist starting up.

TL;DR: The water operated gas valve for instantaneous heater has an upper and lower shell (17, 18) with a membrane (1) between, forming two water chambers (2, 3) as discussed by the authors.
Abstract: The water operated gas valve for e.g. an instantaneous heater has an upper and lower shell (17, 18) with a membrane (1) between, forming two water chambers (2, 3). The water flow regulating valve (8) slides inside the sleeve (11) and is actuated by the spring (9). The valve extension piece operates against the diaphragm. The rod (22) on the upper side of the diaphragm connects with the gas valve (23). The gas is admitted through the inlet passage (25). The valve is located by the spring (24). The water valve plate (14) has a bleed hole (15) which operates at low flows. At high flows the valve is opened and water flows through the hole (16).

TL;DR: In this article, a pen recorder is used to measure the amt. of gas produced by a core during a casting process, where the core consists e.g. of sand contg. a synthetic resin binder.
Abstract: Measuring appts. for determining the speed of evolution of gas from foundry core sand, where the appts. shows the vol. of gas produced w.r.t. time and simultaneously displays the data on a pen recorder. The reactor is pref. located in a furnace, and is followed by a gas heater and a gas meter, pref. with an open outlet so the actual throughput of gas is measured. The appts. is pref. scrubbed iwth nitrogen after each test. Used to measure the amt. of gas which will be given of by a core during a casting process, where the core consists e.g. of sand contg. a synthetic resin binder.

TL;DR: In this article, a solution containing ferromagnetic metal powder formed by a wet reduction method is continuously or intermittently sent to an intermediate stock tank through a pipe and then kept in a non-oxidative atompsphere.
Abstract: PURPOSE: To manufacture ferromagnetic metal powder having excellent magnetic characteristics as magnetic recording medium by heat-treating continuously ferromagnetic metal powder formed by wet reduction method in a non-oxidative atmosphere after continuously drying it in a non-oxidative atmosphere CONSTITUTION: A solution containing ferromagnetic metal powder formed by a wet reduction method is continuously or intermittently sent to an intermediate stock tank through a pipe 1 and then kept in a non-oxidative atompsphere Then, the solution is continuously sent to a sedimentation tank B to concentrate it into a slurry, and then the concentrated slurry is supplied at a definite flow rate to a dryer C to dry it at less than 250°C by hot gas from the non-oxidative gas heater H and by steam in jacket Then, the dried powder is sent to a heat treating machine D to subject it to a heat treatment at less than 300°C for approx 1 to 30 min by means of steam in a jacket and hot gas from the non-oxidative gas heater H, and then impregnated with a solvent, eg, toluene, etc, from the tank E' in the product taking-out tank E and at the same time cooled by jacket cooling water COPYRIGHT: (C)1979,JPO&Japio

TL;DR: In this paper, an enclosure for the part of a gas heater vent which protrudes on the outside of a wall of a building in which the gas heater is installed is described.
Abstract: This invention is an enclosure for the part of a gas heater vent which protrudes on the outside of a wall of the building in which the gas heater is installed. It consists of a sheet metal rectangular baffle which encloses the front, sides, and part of the top of the vent part, and is attached to the wall of the building. A variation of the invention provides for the easy removal and reattachment of the baffle; and another variation fully encloses the top and bottom of the baffle; provides a chimney for the discharge of gases at the top of the baffle, and a rain and snow shield for the top of the chimney.
