TL;DR: In this paper, a workpiece (26) is placed in a mold cavity (24) and the mold cavity is closed to shape the workpiece, then the work piece is heated to the desired temperature for the required time, the diverter valves (68 and 70) are closed.
Abstract: The molding apparatus includes a press (10) with a top mold (12) and a bottom mold (14). The top mold (12) has a die (32) with a contoured die surface (34) and gas passages (36). The bottom mold (14) has a die (44) with a contoured die surface (46). The die (44) is made from either a solid piece of material with gas passages or from a porous material. During operation, a workpiece (26) is placed in a mold cavity (24). The mold cavity (24) is closed to shape the workpiece. The workpiece is heated by hot gas supplied by a gas supply and recirculation system (52) when the diverter valves (68 and 70) are opened and gas flows from gas circulation fan (56) to the gas heater chamber (54) to the bottom mold (14), through the die (44), through the workpiece (26), through the die (32) and back to the inlet side of the gas circulation fan (56). When the workpiece (26) has been heated to the desired temperature for the required time, the diverter valves (68 and 70) are closed. When the diverter valves are closed, gas flows through the gas recirculation duct (62) from the gas heater chamber (54) to the inlet of the gas circulation fan (56). The mold cavity (24) is then opened and the workpiece (26) is removed and an unformed workpiece is placed in the mold cavity to repeat the cycle.

TL;DR: In this article, a system for protecting the material of a gas-gas heater which receives a raw flue gas for being provided to a desulfurization plant for cleaning of the flue gases comprises a path of raw gas having a gas temperature which is provided to the heater.
Abstract: A system for protecting the material of a gas-gas heater which receives a raw flue gas for being provided to a desulfurization plant for cleaning of the flue gas comprises a path of raw flue gas having a gas temperature which is provided to the heater. A quench device communicates with the raw flue gas flow for providing a rapid cooling of the raw flue gas. A controller communicates with the flow of raw flue gas and the quench device. The controller has a variable, pre-set temperature value which is the temperature at which the material of the heater can be damaged. The controller monitors the temperature of the raw flue gas for detecting when the temperature of the raw flue gas is greater than the pre-set temperature value for activating the quench device in order to provide a rapid cooling of the raw flue gas until the gas temperature is less than the pre-set temperature value.

TL;DR: In this article, a co-linear air intake pipe and gas outlet pipe are separated from each other so that the fluid flowing in one pipe does not come in contact with the other pipe.
Abstract: A direct ventilation gas fireplace having co-linear air intake pipe and gas outlet pipe. The pipes are separated from each other so that the fluid flowing in one pipe does not come in contact with the other pipe. The gas outlet pipe may comprise a safety release valve that allows any excess pressure, in case of explosion, to exit through a lateral spring-actuated door into an enclosure closed around the combustion chamber. This safety release valve allows to build fireplaces having pipes longer than the usual length allowed for respecting specific safety tests in case of gas explosion.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed to shorten regeneration time by further heating low purity nitrogen for regenerating an adsorber heated by feed air on the outlet side of a feed air compressor of an air liquefying separator.
Abstract: PURPOSE: To shorten regeneration time by further heating low purity nitrogen for regenerating an adsorber heated by feed air on the outlet side of a feed air compressor of an air liquefying separator. CONSTITUTION: At first, feed air is compressed by an air compressor 1. Then, the compressed air exchanges its heat with low temp and, low purity gaseous nitrogen separated by liquefaction from an air liquefying separator 6 in a heat exchanger 2. The cooled air is sent through a water cooling column 3 to an adsorber 4 in which moisture and carbon dioxide in the air are eliminated and removed. Then, liquefying separation of the air is performed in the air liquefying separator 1. On the other hand, the low purity gaseous nitrogen subjected to heat exchange in the heat exchanger 2 is further heated in a regenerating gas heater 5 and sent to the adsorber 4, and after regeneration is performed there, it is discharged to the outside. In this way, when the adsorber is regenerated, the low purity nitrogen is used as a refrigerant for the heat exchanger. COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a method to prevent dew condensation on the outside or testing tank-side surface of an antidim observation window without burning or deteriorating the light transmittance of the glass plate, etc., of the window.
Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent dew condensation on the outside or testing tank-side surface of an antidim observation window without burning or deteriorating the light transmittance of the glass plate, etc., of the window. CONSTITUTION:The outside glass plate 1, inside glass plate 2, and intermediate glass plate 2 of a testing tank are fixed with a frame 4 and a dry nitrogen gas generated from a nitrogen gas generating device 17 is heated with a gas heater 18. The heated nitrogen gas is selectively made to flow to a outside or testing tank-side space 11 or 12 by switching solenoid valves 19, 20 and 21, or 22. The gas heater 18 heats the nitrogen gas until the temperature of the outside glass plate 1 or inside glass plate 2 becomes higher than the dew- point temperature of the outside 8 or testing tank 7. Therefore, dew condensation on the antidim observation window can be prevented without burning or deteriorating the light transmittancy of the glass plates.
