Abstract: An apparatus and method for applying a coating to an article uses a nozzle having a converging portion and a diverging portion downstream thereof forming a throat therebetween. A gas inlet is upstream of the converging portion of the nozzle for receiving a supply of high pressure gas and a powder inlet introduces a powdered feed material into a gas stream in the nozzle downstream of the throat. A gas heater heats the gas stream from the gas inlet upstream of the converging portion.

SUBSTANCE: method involves proportioning and mixing compressed gases, their heating and adding inhalation doping agents and subsequent processing in recycling mode with oxygen additions. Gas mix is supplied as either atmospheric air or as prepared gas mix of specific content. Inhalation doping agents are added by means of blowing heated gas mix through inhalation materials. Prepared mix is used as gas mix for breathing using inhalation mask or as gas environment in helmet, intensive treatment unit or under local cover. Corresponding device has inhalator, which is embedded into mix chamber, which is located in gas channel between therapeutic tank and gas heater, which is designed as controlled transmission-type heat exchanger. Output unit may be designed as inhalation valve which is connected to air or be connected to additional gas mix flask, which has reduction valve and constrictor, or to additional oxygen flask. Abstract: This paper deals with the long-time operating experience with a heat shifting systm in the flue gas desulfurization system of the 480 MW Unit 8 of Grosskraftwerk Mannheim AG (GKM). At first, the efforts were focussed on fighting the critical corrosion in the scrubbed gas heater. The casing of the scrubbed gas heater was clad with a high-quality material. All bundles of the first heat exchanger stage were completely redesigned in such a was that only very corrosion-resistant materials were used. Serious corrosion in the stainless steel tubes of the second and third scrubbed gas heater stages required extensive modifications on the water-side confirguration of all three heat exchanger stages. Damage frequency, damage extent, repair methods and improvement with respect to the plastic hoses will be described.

SOLUTION: The inside of a duct casing 12 is divided into a plurality of chambers 15 with a partition wall 14 in a widthwise direction perpendicular to a flow direction of combustion waste gas, and dampers 16 are provided at an inlet and an outlet of each chamber 15 defined with the partition wall 14. Abstract: We experienced unusual acoustic vibration in the operation of in-line array tubular heat exchangers named gas heater. This vibration mode was not one dimensional in the direction perpendicular to gas flow and could not be vanished by inserting baffle plates into the tube bundle along the gas flow. So we had to confirm acoustic vibration characteristics using 3-dimensional air flow scale model. Here, we report this test results about multi-stage gas heater and some countermeasure methods. Especially we discovered that unusual acoustic vibration mentioned above did not appeared in the case of some staggerd tube array having same heat transfer characteristics as in-line tube array.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an installation cost by minimizing the increase of a pressure loss in a reheater of a gas gas-heater by a simple structure by a method wherein a bare pipe is arranged to an inlet part of the reheater installed on a downstream side of a mist eliminator on an outlet side of a wet flue gas desulfurizing apparatus, and a heat transfer pipe with a fin is separately arranged inside a casing. SOLUTION: A flue gas in a saturated state exhausted from a wet flue gas desulfurizing apparatus, after passing through a mist eliminator(ME), is allowed to flow into a reheater 4 of a gas gas-heater 2 in a slightly wet state. It is heated by a bare pipe 13 arranged separately on the ME side to make a dry state, allowed to pass through an area wherein a pipe with a fin 9 of the reheater 4 is arranged, and a dust or the like is prevented from sticking and depositing among fins of the pipe with the fin 9. Though dust or the like is slightly stuck to a surface of the bare pipe 13 since exhaust gas before drying passes, there is no accumulation of that which has been grown large, and an optimum heat transfer surface can be constituted as the bare pipe 13. Thereby, increase of a pressure loss in the reheater 4 of a gas gas-heater is minimized, and an installing cost can be reduced.
