Abstract: An apparatus (200, 300, 400) for generating superheated steam capable of reducing or eliminating microorganisms associated with an item (230) includes a gas heater (10) for heating a gas, a steam generator coupled to the gas heater (10) and having a reservoir (216, 304) for supplying water, wherein the heater (10) heats the gas such that when water is combined therewith, a mixture of superheated steam and gas capable of reducing or eliminating microorganisms is discharged from the apparatus (200, 300, 400). The generation of the steam-gas mixture may be done at one atmosphere of pressure and the mixing may be done prior to expelling the fluid from the apparatus (200, 300, 400). The apparatus (400) may be configured as a hand-held device, A method of treating an item (230) for microorganisms includes generating a superheated steam at approximately one atmosphere of pressure, directing a flow of the steam onto the item (230), and reducing or eliminating microorganisms using the steam.

The spray drying system for providing a particulate material comprises a spray drying chamber (3), after treatment equipment (4, 5) placed downstream of the spray drying chamber and a process gas heater (2) placed upstream in relation to the spray drying chamber (3), wherein an inlet filter (1) capable of removing microorganisms at a temperature below 140 °C, is placed upstream of the process gas heater (2) and that the process gas heater (2) is a non-flaking heater.

Abstract: To provide a storage water heater capable of increasing thermal efficiency and quickly boiling when tap water is supplied into a hot-water tank. A storage water heater 1 can heat low-temperature water having a high density because hot water in a hot-water tank 10 is led from a lead-in pipe 18 positioned at the bottom of the hot-water tank 10 to a gas heater 51 . Also, a water supply pipe outlet 15 and a lead-in pipe inlet 19 are provided so as to be opposed to each other on the same axis. Therefore, when tap water is supplied from a water supply pipe 14 , the tap water lower in temperature than the hot water in the hot-water tank 10 is preferentially led to the gas heater 51 . With this, hot water at the lowest temperature in the hot-water tank 10 can be selectively heated, thereby increasing thermal efficiency.

Abstract: The invention relates to an evaporation and cooling gas heater, comprising original smoke heat exchanger (1) and purified smoke heat exchanger (2), steam dome (3), by which two heat exchangers are connected. At the side of original smoke heat exchanger (1), the quantity of heat of original smoke is transferred to the cycling medium (11) in heat exchanging pipe (6) at original smoke side. The cycling medium (11) is evaporated by heating and formed steam enters in heat exchanging pipe (7) at purified smoke side. In the heat exchanging pipe (7), the quantity of heat of steam is transferred to the purified smoke and the purified smoke is condensed into liquid. Under the effect of gravity, liquid medium returns into the heat exchanging pipe (6) at the original smoke side through steam dome (3). By the cycling, the purpose that the quantity of heat of original is used to heat the purified smoke is realized. Steam even-pressure room (5) at the purified smoke side is connected with vacuum pump (10) outside so as to control the pressure in evaporating and cooling system and the boiling point of cycling medium. The invention can adopt multiple groups of smoke heater in parallel. By controlling the pressure in each heat exchanger, multi-step temperature difference heat exchanger is realized. The invention is provided with no leakage of smoke, strong applicable ability to load variety of mainframe, and no operation consumption.

Abstract: Currently, GGH(gas gas heater) is widely used in the wet flue gas desulphurization system to increase flue gas temperature of stack outlet. It, however, causes the system to be complicated together with additional operation cost to equip with GGH. To probe into the feasibility of wet stack emission and related issues for flue gas wet emission, numerical simulation technique was adopted to analyze the flow field in the stack and out of the stack (without GGH). The corruption issue, the thermal stress of the stack and the pressure distribution in the stack and lifting height of the flue gas were also calculated and analyzed. According to numerical simulation analysis, special anticorrosive measures should be taken in abating stack corruption escalated by wet stack emission. Wet stack emission will reduce the lifting height of the flue gas, and it's not beneficial to gas diffusion; the momentum of the flue gas (its exit velocity) should be guaranteed to decrease the plume downwash and to promote gas diffusion; each of the emission index of the wet flue gas can meet the requirements for the environmental protection. In conclusion, wet stack emission can reduce the equipment investment and operation cost evidently if designed reasonably and it is absolutely feasible.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas fuel engine apparatus capable of surely preventing generation of condensed water even when using a gas fuel engine as a heat source for reheating gas. SOLUTION: A gas producing apparatus 1 generates the gas with a high moisture content. The gas generated by the gas producing apparatus 1 is cooled in a gas cooler 4 and condensed water of the gas cooled in the gas cooler is separated by a moisture separator 5. A gas heater 6 reheats the gas from which the condensed water is separated. The gas engine 10 is supplied with the gas filtered by a filter 8. A heat source supply means supplies hot water heated by the gas engine 10 to the gas heater 6 as a heat source for heating the gas. The waterflow rotor component is arranged inside the inlet pipe and the Hall sensor is positioned correspondently to the waterflow rotor component on the water valve body which is provided with a plurality of separated housings and bypassing water pipes; the plurality of separated housings is directly communicated with the inlet pipe and is communicated with the outlet pipe and the bypassing pipe through the electro pneumatic valve on the separated housing. The utility model has the advantages of effective realization of automatic detection of water flow, automatic control of water flow, increasing the security and pleasance of using the gas heater and so on. Abstract: The worldwide energy demands and its increasing cost in addition to the environmental problems of using the fossil fuels, has made the efficient use of energy inclouding heat recovery strategy in thermal systems. Although many equipments have been developed to re-use some of waste heat in large scales but there is few works on small scale and low grade sourses such as domestic gas heaters. This paper describes a water heating apparatus based on utilization of exhaust energy of domestic gas heater. The device is mounted on the roof, connected to the stack and the hot exhaust flows through its inner gear-shaped tube. The potential of heat recovery of this parallel-flow heat exchanger has been tested for 5.2 and 7.2kW heater powers and different exhaust temperatures in the range of 100-185 0 C. The results indicate; at the desired water temperature 45 0 C, the effective heating power enhances in the range of 290-940W proportional to the exhaust temperature and or gas heater power. The appliance could utilize up to 13% of total heat which is wasted, and it is fit to low grade, domestic gas heaters which are widely used and can supply hot water from low temperature exhaust gas even at 100 0 C. Economical considerationns reveals that the payback time of installation this appliance is 4 years.

Abstract: Natural gas is transferred in high pressure by piping system from refiners to city gate stations. For public consumption the gas pressure is reduced in gas pressure reducing stations. The pressure is reduced in regulators and leads to a sudden drop of temperature and consequently the formation of gas hydrates. Preventing hydrate formation, natural gas is heated by passing through water bath gas heaters. In this study, the thermodynamic efficiencies of water bath gas heaters were conducted. The effect of air-fuel ratio and the flow rate of the fuel on the efficiency of this instrument were studied. Also, the variations of efficiencies versus flame temperature have been considered and the optimum points in each state were obtained. From these comparisons, it can be concluded that, first law efficiency is suitable meanwhile second law efficiency is very low. The main reason of low second law efficiency is that high availability generation by fuel causes low enhancement in the availability of natural gas, passed through heaters. Also, one dimensional simulation has been employed to compute temperature distribution numerically in whole of a gas pressure reducing station with water bath gas heaters and with shell and tube heaters (inline heaters). Comparison between these two stations show that the gas pressure reducing station with inline heaters is more appropriate than the one with water bath gas heaters. Finally, water bath gas heaters and inline heaters have been studied economically by utilizing energy flow optimization model, EFOM. It is shown that the inline heaters have less cost of heat generation and they are more economical.Copyright © 2007 by ASME

Abstract: FIELD: fluid heaters. ^ SUBSTANCE: heater comprises housing made of base and heat insulating wall provided with a burner, heat exchanging module made of axially aligned inner and outer pipes with plug from the side of the burner, combustion passage, inlet and outlet collectors, and chimney. The heat exchanging module has baffles interposed between the inner and outer pipes from both sides of the plug. The baffles form passages for the flow of fluid to be heated. The passages are interconnected. The combustion passage is mounted inside the heat exchanging module. The air duct is defined by the space between the heat exchanging module and heat insulating wall. The valve is mounted from the side of the burner and made for permitting rotation around its axis. The inlet and outlet collectors are connected with the passages of the heat exchanging module from the side of the burner. The passages for fluid to be heated can be in communication through both the opening in the baffles and through additional heat exchanging members mounted in the space of the inner pipe of the heat exchanging module. The main technical characteristics are that the gas heater also comprises a mixer communicating to the gas control system, a catalytic burner of catalytic side fired combustor, and a condensing heat exchanger. The mixer and the catalytic burner are communicated to the fan. The utility model has the advantages of effective reduction on the production of the harmful pollutants such as nitric oxides and carbon monoxide from the gas heater, further improvement of the thermal efficiency, easy achievement of the top exhaust mode, no drop of the condensed water on the main heat exchanger and simple structure.

Abstract: In the drying of ethanol by (a) passing the ethanol through sintered, granulated zeolite (I) of particle size 1-5 mm and (b) regenerating (I) by removing the accumulated water using heated inert gas, both stages are connected togther, operated continuously and carried out in apparatus for simultaneous drying of ethanol and regeneration of (I). An independent claim is included for apparatus for the process, consisting of a vertical ring (1) of several (I)-containing chambers (2), rotating slowly at 2-10 revolutions per hour. The side walls (3) of the chambers are permeable gratings and the ring of chambers is enclosed in a housing (4), in the lower part of which the liquid ethanol to be dried flows via an inlet opening (5) through the chambers and exits via an outlet opening (6) on the opposite side. The upper part of the chamber is the (I) reactivation region, in which inert carrier gas from a blower is pressed from an inlet pipe (7) through the chambers in countercurrent to the direction of rotation. The gas, with the entrained steam, exits through an outlet pipe (9) and is taken out of the system in a condenser (10), with cooling water inflow and outflow (11, 12), as condensed water (13) and a small amount of residual ethanol (14). In a second gas circuit, driven by a gas blower (15), inert gas still saturated with water vapor and converted into dried form by passage through the chambers is sucked out via a suction pipe (16), heated by a gas heater (17) to 350-400[deg]C (i.e. the temperature required to dry (I)) and fed into the system via an inlet pipe (18). Exothermic heat is extracted from the ethanol in a heat exchanger (19), with coolant inflow and outflow (20, 21), and the associated circulation pump (22) is used simultaneously for regulating the liquid filling height.

The inlet pipe of a refrigerant exchanger at another end of the double-exchange fan-coil unit 5 is connected with the outlet of a multi-connected direct-cooling type central air condition 6, and outlet of the end is tied back to inlet of the multi-connected direct-cooling type central air condition 6. The system integrated cooling and heating and sanitary hot water supply is accordingly realized by combining and coordinated controlling cooling source, heat source devices; the system has high heat efficiency, good cooling and heating effect and low operation cost and saves energy, occupies less space, saves investment and meets people's requirement and enjoys good share in the market.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device which can be easily installed in a gas heater generally used in homes at present and gives an alarm to prevent not only accidents caused by fading-out during gas combustion and a failure to turn off the gas but also gas leakage and a fire during user's leaving the gas heater for a long time for some reason when using the gas heater. When a gas combustion flame is continuously used, a reset switch is depressed to restart the clock each time when the alarm is given, and the alarm is given also when the combustion flame goes out during the progress of the clock. In this manner, a gas combustion flame monitor alarm combines the infrared detection optical sensor or the temperature sensor and the clock to inform the user of a certain time interval and fading-out of the flame by giving the alarm with sounds and light.
