TL;DR: In this paper, a gas heater is injected into a stream of water being circulated in a system such as the purifying circuit of a water reservoir, and a controlled mild acidifying effect which maintains the water at a selected PH level for maintaining it in a purified condition, eliminating the need for the acid and reducing the requirement for chlorine additives commonly used in purifying the water of a pool.
Abstract: Controlled injection of combustion products from a gas heater pressurized into a stream of water being circulated in a system such as the purifying circuit of a water reservoir, effects a controlled mild acidifying effect which maintains the water at a selected PH level for maintaining it in a purified condition, eliminating the need for the acid and reducing the requirement for chlorine additives commonly used in purifying the water of a pool. Application of suction to the heater's combustion chamber above its burner greatly increases heater efficiency.

TL;DR: In this paper, a thermally sprayed gas heater for turbulent flow gas ducts is described. But the authors focus on the thermally spraying of the gas mixture to heat the gas flow in the housing.
Abstract: A thermally sprayed gas heater comprises a gas flow apparatus that propels a gas through a housing; and a thermally sprayed heater bonded to a surface of the apparatus, the heater positioned to heat the gas flow in the housing. In other aspects, a heater system for a turbulent flow gas duct comprises a duct having a gas flow channel, the channel having a shaped surface providing turbulent gas flow in the channel, and a thermally sprayed heater positioned to heat the gas flow in the channel.

TL;DR: In this paper, the direction of the flow of hot flue gases is controlled by aerodynamic valving rather than by mechanical means through either the main stack or the auxiliary stack provided with the heat exchanger of a heat recovery apparatus.
Abstract: A directional control apparatus for directing hot flue gases received from a combustion zone, either directly to atmosphere through a main stack or through an auxiliary stack, where heat is recovered from the waste hot flue gases and further utilized as energy. While the directional control apparatus for flue gases is especially suitable in recovering waste heat from an incinerator, it may also be utilized for recovering waste heat from any type of combustion equipment, such as a furnace, gas heater, or the like. The direction of the flow of hot flue gases is controlled by aerodynamic valving rather than by mechanical means through either the main stack or the auxiliary stack provided with the heat exchanger of a heat recovery apparatus.

TL;DR: In this paper, the performance of the most common gas space heater used in residences in Argentina was experimentally investigated, and the main design characteristics leading to the poor performance were identified: low emissivity of the combustion chamber surface, tight enclosing cabinet (affecting radiation and convection transfer), and no chimney flow control (leading to large outgas losses).

TL;DR: In this paper, an economic-based new control strategy has been proposed for the hybrid system to investigate the system thermal performance and reveal the economic benefits for residential space heating application, which can lead to a ∼10% to ∼60% system operating economic benefits.
