Abstract: PURPOSE:To sufficiently hold the reaction temp. of a reducing tower, by raising desorbed gas to a specific temp. by the indirect heat enchange between the heating gas of a desorbing tower and the desorbing gas supplied to the reducing tower. CONSTITUTION:A carbonaceous adsorbent with which SO2 is adsorbed is supplied to a desorbing tower 2 from the tower top thereof and indirectly heated by heating gas passing through the heat exchange pipe 13 arranged in the desorbing tower 2 to desorb SO2. The desorbed gas of the reducing tower 2 is introduced into the heat exchange pipe of a desorbed gas heater 16 from a line 24 and subjected to indirect heat exchange with the heating gas of the desorbing tower 2 from a gas generating furnace 18 for heating the desorbing tower 2. Because the outlet gas of the gas generating furnace 18 is heated to 500-700 deg.C, the desorbing gas entering the desorbing tower 3 is raised to 400-500 deg.C and heat amount for holding the reaction temp. of the desorbing tower can be sufficiently replenished.
