TL;DR: In this article, the microstructural characteristics and mechanical properties, including micro-hardness, tensile properties, three-point bending properties and Charpy impact toughness at different test temperatures of 8mm thick S960 high strength steel plates were investigated following their joining by multi-pass ultra-narrow gap laser welding (NGLW) and gas metal arc welding (GMAW) techniques.

••
TL;DR: In this article, a hybrid laser/arc welding (HLAW) process was used to join high strength steel plates by using a double Y-groove shape to reduce the width of the heat affected zone and softened area.

••
TL;DR: In this paper, an experimental and modeling investigation of gas tungsten arc butt welding of stainless steel plates containing different sulfur concentrations was performed, and the results showed significant shift of the fusion zone toward the low sulfur steel.

••
TL;DR: A comparison of the corrosion resistance of AA6060T5 and AA6082T6 jointed surfaces via Friction Stir Welding (FSW) and Metal Inert Gas (MIG), respectively, is reported in this article.

••
TL;DR: In this paper, a new generation of fiber laser assisted by a MIG source was used to weld AA5754-H111 aluminum alloy in 3-mm thick butt configuration, and the effects of laser and arc powers on the weld geometry and properties were studied.
