TL;DR: A backlash reducer for a gear transmission system comprises a main gear and an auxiliary gear which form one of a driving gear and a driven gear in mesh therewith of the gear transmission as discussed by the authors.
Abstract: A backlash reducer for a gear transmission system comprises a main gear and an auxiliary gear which form one of a driving gear and a driven gear in mesh therewith of the gear transmission system. The main gear is mounted on a rotary shaft for rotation therewith, and the auxiliary gear is mounted on the rotary shaft for rotation relative thereto. A backlash reducing mechanism is operable in response to a centrifugal force due to rotation of the rotary shaft for angularly moving the main and auxiliary gears relative to each other to reduce a backlash between the driving and driven gears. The backlash reducer may further comprise a mechanism for restraining the backlash reducing action of the backlash reducing mechanism. Alternatively, the backlash reducer may comprise a first mechanism operable in response to the centrifugal force to move the auxiliary gear axially thereof and a second mechanism for converting the axial movement of the auxiliary gear to circumferential movement thereof.

Abstract: A two-wheeled vehicle such as a bicycle includes a variable displacement fluid pump such as a radial plunger pump provided at a crankshaft of pedals and a fixed displacement fluid motor such as a gear motor at a rear wheel or a front wheel. The fluid pump and motor are connected through hydraulic passages. Plungers of the radial plunger pump are driven by a cam assembly whose eccentricity is adjustable by means of an eccentricity control means dependent upon the load acting upon the vehicle in a stepless manner, so that the speed of the vehicle can be changed in a stepless manner. Moreover, the vehicle includes automatic speed change means which automatically change the eccentricity of the eccentric cam assembly according to hydraulic pressure of the variable displacement fluid pump, so that the speed of the vehicle can be automatically changed.

TL;DR: In this article, the double acting check valve allows hydraulic power steering oil to flow from the power steering pump through the valve to the gear in normal operation during an impact load at the tire, the piston in the gear forces the oil from the gear to the check valve which controls or meters the oil flow and pressure so that the impact is not transmitted back to the steering wheel.
Abstract: This double acting check valve allows hydraulic power steering oil to flow from the power steering pump through the valve to the power steering gear in normal operation. During an impact load at the tire, the piston in the gear forces the oil from the gear to the check valve which controls or meters the oil flow and pressure so that the impact is not transmitted back to the steering wheel. In the event that the impact load is severe and pressures build up within the power steering gear, as a result, the blow off valve opens to allow such back flow to reduce or eliminate damage to the gear housing.

TL;DR: In this paper, the inner rotor of an internal gap pump in trochoid meshing is prepared by using the radius of the fundamental circle, the radius B1 of the rolling circle, and the radius C1 of drawn circle.
Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce the gap generated during the revolution of an inner rotor of an internal gap pump in trochoid meshing, by preparing the inner rotor by using the radius of the fundamental circle, radius of the rolling circle, and the radius of the drawn circle which are corrected from the theoretical curve for the inner rotor under special conditions. CONSTITUTION:A gap is generated between an inner rotor and an outer rotor by retreating the tip part of the inner rotor whose theoretical curve is given by the radius A0 of fundamental circle, radius B0 of rolling circle, amount (e) of essentially, radius C0 of drawn circle, and the number (n) of teeth n=A0/B0, by the fundamental correction amount DELTAX. Setting the retreat amount at this time as the fundamental correction amount DELTAX, the radius A1 of the fundamental circle after correction, radius B1 of the rolling circle and the radius C1 of the drawn circle are obtained according to the equation I, and the inner rotor curve is corrected. When the inner rotor is prepared by using the correc tion value, the pump efficiency can be improved by reducing the amount of gap which is generated during the revolution of the rotor of an internal gear pump meshed in trochoid.

TL;DR: In this paper, the pinion gear of a gear pump is press fit onto the end portion of the drive shaft of the pump and is positively captivated on the shaft by a key and by hot upsetting process, the latter resulting in the formation of axially protruding burrs on the end face of the shaft.
Abstract: The pinion gear of a gear pump is press fit onto the end portion of the drive shaft of the pump and is positively captivated on the shaft by a key and by a hot upsetting process, the latter resulting in the formation of axially protruding burrs on the end face of the shaft. When the drive shaft is rammed forwardly with significant force, the burrs tend to embed in an end plate disposed in opposing relation with the shaft. To prevent the burrs from embedding in the end plate and locking the shaft against rotation, the end plate is formed with a recess which receives the burrs with substantial axial clearance when the shaft is rammed forwardly against the end plate.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a pressure introduction means for introducing the pressure of working fluid from an operating chamber into pressure grooves formed in both end faces of gears to prevent a gear from being worn and seizing.
Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent a gear from being worn and seizing, by providing a pressure introduction means for introducing the pressure of working fluid from an operating chamber into pressure grooves formed in both end faces of gears. CONSTITUTION:Working fluid is introduced into an operating chamber 20 in association with the rotation of both gears 1, 14, and a part of the fluid enters into pressure grooves 12a, 12b through pressure introducing passage 13. Pressure chambers 12a, 12b are communicated with each other through a pressure communicating passage 13, and therefore, the pressure thereof are equal to each other. Urging forces which are applied respectively to both gears 1, 14 by the pressure in the pressure grooves 12a, 12b, are also equal to each other, and therefore, both gears 1, 14 are held in a neutral condition while they continuously rotate without being biased toward either a front side plate 4 or a rear side plate 5. Thereby, it is possible to prevent the gears from being worn and seizing.
