TL;DR: In this article, a multi-shaft planetary gear mechanism, a continuously variable hydrostatic transmission, rear-mounted gear stages and clutches are used for automatic transmission of a tractor.
Abstract: The transmission consists of a multi-shaft planetary gear mechanism, a continuously variable hydrostatic transmission, rear-mounted gear stages and clutches. The hydrostatic transmission includes a positive displacement machine with a variable displacement volume and a positive displacement machine with a constant displacement volume. In the planetary gear mechanism, one shaft forms the input shaft and the variable positive displacement machine is connected to this. A second shaft of the planetary gear mechanism is connected to the constant-volume positive displacement machine. A third and fourth shaft of the planetary gear mechanism represent coupling shafts. In an extreme position of the hydrostatic transmission, these rotate at the same speed and, when the hydrostatic transmission is adjusted to the other extreme position, there is a continuous increase in the speed of rotation of one of the coupling shafts and a continuous decrease in the speed of rotation of the other, and these coupling shafts act alternately, in each case via at least two rear-mounted stages, also known as gears, on the output shaft. In the extreme positions of the hydrostatic transmission, gear changes are performed at synchronous speeds, in a load-free manner and without interruption to the tractive effort, by selector clutches. Control and regulation of the automatic transmission is performed by electronic and hydraulic means.

TL;DR: In this paper, an actuating mechanism for controlling the swashplate angle in a Stirling cycle engine or other engine having parallel reciprocating pistons is described. But the authors do not specify the actuation mechanism.
Abstract: An actuating mechanism for controlling the swashplate angle in a Stirling cycle engine or other engine having parallel reciprocating pistons. The actuation system uses an electric motor for changing swashplate angle. Various embodiments for gear trains for communicating rotation of the electric motor rotor to the swashplate are described. In a first embodiment, a planet gear carrier is driven by the motor and the planet gears simultaneously mesh with two ring gears having a differing number of teeth. Rotation of the carrier creates a high reduction drive for the second ring gear. In accordance with a second embodiment, the ring gear carrier is permitted to freely rotate and a driving sun gear is provided which meshes with the planet gears. In accordance with a third embodiment, the planet gear carrier is driven and the planet gears have two different diameter scrtions which mesh with the two ring gears, thus avoiding the high friction associated with a mismatching of the teeth of the planet gear and ring gears of the first and second embodiments. The fourth embodiment combines the features of the second and third embodiment configurations.

Abstract: A hydrostatic transmission includes a mechanically driven hydraulic pump connected in hydraulic circuit with first and second hydraulic motors. The hydrostatic outputs of the first and second motors are respectively applied to the ring and sun gears of a planetary gear set whose carrier constitutes the transmission hydrostatic output. Acceleration under low speed, high torque conditions is achieved by varying the displacements of the pump and second motor, while the first motor is removed from the hydraulic circuit and the ring gear is braked. At an appropriate shift point, the first motor is inserted into the hydraulic circuit and the ring gear is released, such that further acceleration is achieved by varying the displacements of the pump and both motors in coordination.

Abstract: Two worms of a worm extruder are connected to drive shafts of different lengths journaled in a transmission housing. For driving one of the worms, a first gear is keyed to the longer drive shaft and is driven by the motor gear and the electric motor. The second worm is driven by a further shaft, one end of which has a gear meshing with the second gear keyed to the short drive shaft so that the gear of this further shaft and the gears of the two drive shafts lie in a common plane. The further shaft is driven by a gear meshing with the motor shaft or by a separate motor. With this apparatus torque distribution is improved and the number of gears and components of the transmission is reduced.

TL;DR: In this article, a closed center hydraulic system that features a pair of variable displacement, engine driving hydraulic pumps, the displacement of which is responsive to the demands of the system is described.
Abstract: An excavator has a number of different hydraulically powered functions that are controlled by a closed center hydraulic system that features a pair of variable displacement, engine driving hydraulic pumps, the displacement of which is responsive to the demands of the system. The flow to the various hydraulic motors is controlled by pilot operated load sensing control valves that direct fluid pressure to a load sensing line when one of the hydraulic motors in the system is being operated. The load sensing line is connected to the control system of the pumps to place the pumps in stroke when a flow of pressurized fluid is required. The flow of the load sensing pressure to the controls for one of the pumps can be optionally disconnected to place said pump in a standby condition and thereby reduce the flow capacity of the hydraulic system at the option of the operator.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a valve arrangement for the outflow and an inlet control system and outlet control system, which is used for gradually reducing the superatmospheric pressure and providing additional oil for special requirements.
Abstract: Known lubricating oil pumps in motor vehicles are designed to take the form of gear pumps in such a way that their function is limited to generating a pressurised stream of lubricating oil. This makes it necessary to integrate the functional elements for further functions, especially for gradually reducing the superatmospheric pressure and providing additional oil for special requirements, in the motor as additional assemblies. The innovative lubricating oil pump has a valve arrangement for the outflow and an inlet control system and outlet control system. The pump case is enclosed by a polygon on which the channels and the control devices are arranged. The individual functional elements, in particular the inlet valve device (39), the outlet valves (54), the load indicating channel (44) and the filter are distributed across the sides of the polygon.

TL;DR: In this article, an anti-lash gear mechanism is proposed to reduce the noise in a gearing system, which has a gear member disposed for rotation axially adjacent one of the power transmitting gears in a gear system.
Abstract: An anti-lash gear mechanism is provided to reduce the noise in a gearing system. The anti-lash mechanism has a gear member disposed for rotation axially adjacent one of the power transmitting gears in a gearing system. The anti-lash gear has one more tooth on the periphery than the power transmitting gear and the anti-lash gear is disposed in frictional engagement with the power transmitting gear. When another power transmitting gear meshes with this combination of gears, the anti-lash gear remains in mesh with the drive gear until the next successive gear tooth on the driven gear is engaged. The frictional contact prevents the drive gear from accelerating to engage the drive gear from the driven side. This gear mesh causes the anti-lash gear to rotate relative to the power transmitting gear until complete meshing of the two power transmitting gears is attained. In one embodiment of the invention, a centrifugal mechanism is provided to reduce the frictional engagement at high gear speeds where anti-lash meshes are not required.

Abstract: A gear pump in which a drive shaft is telescoped into a bore in a spur gear and is held against rotation relative to the gear by means of a key fitting into keyways formed in the shaft and in the bore of the gear. To retain the shaft against axial movement relative to the gear, a spring steel ring is formed with a radially extending slot having a transverse width just slightly greater than the transverse width of the key. The ring is collapsed hoopwise into a groove in the shaft and is positioned such that the slot in the ring is alined axially with the keyway in the shaft. When the shaft is telescoped to a predetermined depth in the bore in the gear, the ring expands hoopwise and snaps into a groove formed in the wall of the bore. The coaction of the ring with the two grooves locks the shaft against axial movement relative to the gear.

TL;DR: In this paper, an internal gear pump was employed in the main section of a pump to form a sub-pump and a vane pump at the outer circumference of an external gear.
Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an efficient pump, by employing an internal gear in main section of a pump thereby forming an internal gear pump at the inside thereof and a vane pump at the outside thereof. CONSTITUTION:Main section of a pump is constructed with internal gears 1, 2 so as to form a sub-pump, i.e. an internal gear pump, together with inside suction/discharge ports 5, 6, while a vane 7 is arranged at the outer circumference of an external gear 1 so as to form a main pump, i.e. a vane pump, together with the outside suction/discharge ports 3, 4. Since the delivery flow reaction produced by the vane pump is reduced by the difference of axes of the internal gears 1, 2, necessary input capacity of a complex pump comprising an internal gear pump and the vane pump can be reduced.
